National Football Post's Russ Lande writes that Kansas State LB Arthur Brown is a "favorite" among coaches and scouts.

"No doubt shorter than ideal at 6’0, his ability to read and react to the play so quickly, elite speed and explosive closing burst to give him sideline range has teams confident he will be a three down linebacker in the NFL," Lande writes. "Not only an outstanding player on the field, but regarded as a team leader with all the intangibles, Brown is a favorite amongst scouts and coaches. Although Brown may not make it into the first round of the Draft, we hear it is 50/50, he is viewed by many teams as the most complete inside linebacker in the Draft who has no character issues."

Wow, we're really going to blow next year.

Texas Christian University coach Gary Patterson has been hired as Kansas State's 34th football coach, multiple sources have confirmed to GoPowercat.com.  Patterson replaces Ron Prince, who was fired Wednesday. - Tim Fitzgerald   Nov, 7, 2008

Wasn't there another source that claimed he did have character issues?

2 things.

1.  Stars don't matter folks can eat a big dick.

2.  Our defense could be terrifyingly terrible next year.

Our defense was terrible last year and we went to the Cotton Bowl. We started a 2 star safety at LB (who's now in the league) two lightly regarded former qbs at safety, some jucos at CB, etc, etc. AB was a fantastic player but losing him isn't going to make that huge of a difference.

I'm hoping the Packers take him in the second or third round to replace the void Jennings will leave. Give Aaron Rodgers another big physical wideout to throw to. He loves those!! Plus two EMAW receivers for the Pack!!! :ksu:

Who is our best option to replace him? Moore? Slaughter? It's a very big loss.

You just can't replace an Arthur Brown.

I am fully prepared for our defense to be 2010 status once again.

Yeah, the D is going to suck. I am hanging onto the hope that our offense should be pretty good next year.

Our only hope is for Tre to step up big time and be a good leader and playmaker, also give direction to Slaughter

I can't remember anything regarding him having character issues. There were a lot of teams concerned about his shoulder though.

Someone posted a report in here that said he might have character issues because of the recruiting stuff at Miami along with his subsequent transfer.  That report was obviously written by an idiot though. It would take about 5 minutes talking to know Arthur to realize he's good people.
