I am sure that Greg must have not realized that KU grads are just a bunch of poors, so as a result he took a bath on that book.  Now, an older and wiser Greg has determined he should chase the crowd with

how hard was it for you in your other book to encapsulate the beauty of the hill at ku?

My suggestion to Greg would be to add a disclaimer saying that the book is just a tribute and in no way can attempt to portray the gloriousness of the hill.

Also, I know you're probably not seeking feedback on your other work, but something caught my eye.



Is this diminutive jayhawk aware that sunflowers don't release any sort of scent to attract pollinators and instead rely on their bright colors? 
Or, was the intention to suggest that this little guy might be having some sort of a stroke? 
That seems like some pretty mature themes for a childrens' book, Gregg.

I'm kind of embarrassed to just now be realizing it, but I'm pretty sure that page was intended to be satire.

Calling Lawrence the greatest college town obviously should have tipped me off, but the smelling of backward facing sunflowers I think is intended to complete the motif.

I admit it's very well done, but I'm not sure the children will pick up on it. I would suggest in later editions going with something like:

In "awesome" Lawrence, Kansas, the greatest college town you'll ever get to know...NOT! (or) ON OPPOSITE DAY!

i agree.  i didn't bring up his jayhawk book to discourage him, i just thought i recognized the illustrations.
we should all support this effort if for no other reason than to provide the opportunity for kids to hold this book in their hands rather than some jayhawk propaganda crap.

I truly did make this book for the K-State community, and having lived on both sides of the fanbase I get the passion. 

K-State worked with me on this book the entire time.  I'm as proud of this book as I am the KU book, and I gave it as much love and hard work.  I think it kicks ass that I've gotten the chance to make Kansas' major universities look as good as I can make them.

I knew going into this that I was going to experience all of this.  But I wanted to make the book.  So now's the moment I've been waiting for 

The Kickstarter funding truly does matter though.  I don't have corporate financial backing.  I certainly don't expect to get rich off of this.  I do need to raise those printing funds on Kickstarter for the book to exist.
