Right but AS the flagship we don't have a concept as to what its like to be a lil' bro. Felt that that was obvious

I don't know where you get that Alabamians are all poor welfare recipients. While there is a large percentage of those on welfare the majority of the population is comprised of hardworking tax paying Americans. The majority of the state's population leans to the right which historically is against the current entitlement programs.

While you can bash a number of the "sidewalk" fans (mainly UA fans)  for their lack of education you have no grounds to bash the alum of any of the state schools. Speaking more specifically about Auburn,  we have many distinguished alum. Maybe you have heard of Tim Cook just to name one. Auburn also consistently ranks as one of the top 50 of America's public universities.

Well I've been to Alabama several times, and the hospitals there only are in operation because of government entitlement programs.  For the most part Alabamans are fat, poor, smelly, dumb, racists. And now that I know who Tim Cook is, apparently, y'all(that's what YOU PEOPLE say, right?) steal old ideas and present them as new.

Admirable. There is no better way to instill discipline in one's household IMO. Withholding food works too for larger transgressions, which has the added benefit of more beer money.

Do you all have your parents approval to be posting in the middle of day? Seriously though, you all sound like a bunch of children. When you don't have a point to make or can't refute another's you resort to childish name calling and such. Maybe it is just your way of coping with living on a farm (no offense to real farmers. They are one of the backbones of America) and having a crappy football program. Look at that, now you have sucked me into it.

Sorry I have been in some crucial meetings and I have missed this thread.  I am one of the main moderators here at the goEMAW.com forums.  I must say that the behavior of some of these posters has been appalling and I will be handing out citations as soon as my busy schedule allows.   In the meantime, please feel free to use the "Report to moderator" link at the bottom of every post to being something to my attention.  I have a staff who monitors for anything sent to this link and I will be alerted immediately.

Thank you once again for your patience and participation.

I have been clicking this on all of my posts and I haven't heard from anyone yet.  Two bit operation you got here.

I would also ask them if they remember when they had Cadillac Williams, Brandon Jacobs and Ronnie Brown on the same team. If they answered "yes" or something along those lines, my response would be "man, that is a lot of good running backs to have on one team."

Yup, just as much as everywhere else in the world.

I am well traveled and educated. I have been to all 50 states and literally around the world. Singling out a single US region for being the "racist" area based on events in isolated places 50+ years ago is the height of ignorance. All major US cities with any kind of mixed racial heritage have racial problems of one sort or another, and as I recall we haven't had any "ethnic cleansing" in the south like in Rwanda, Europe. the Caucasus, The Vietnamese Highlands, the Balkans, the Middle-east, etc. etc. etc.

I understand you guys are having your fun, but that bullshit really gets old after a while. Just sayin'....

http://collegeapps.about.com/od/GPA-SAT-ACT-Graphs/ss/auburn-university-admission-gpa-sat-act.htm

http://collegeapps.about.com/od/GPA-SAT-ACT-Graphs/ss/kansas-state-university-admissions-gpa-sat-act.htm

A big part of K-State's land grant mission from the inception of the university was to bring education to all of the people of Kansas.  The minimal admission standards for the first 150 years intentionally enabled individuals to be able to earn a college degree if they worked hard enough for it.  The first class in 1863 had 52 students:  26 men and 26 women.  Since this was in the midst of the Civil War, it was difficult for everyone to finish in four years, needless to say.  However, the first graduating class in 1867 was 2 men and 3 women.  Yep, women were the majority of the first graduating class at K-State.

The first male black graduate was in 1899.
The first female black graduate was in 1901.

I don't have the exact statistics and dates at my fingertips, but Kansas State was one of the few universities in America to admit blacks to the College of Veterinary Medicine. Until the Tuskegee School of Veterinary Medicine opened in the 1940's, K-State had graduated approximately 50% of the black veterinarians in the entire United States.  The history of the Tuskegee Vet school is rich with collaborations with and leadership of Kansas State graduates.

I have a feeling that many institutions with "higher standards" have a history filled with exclusions of females and minorities being denied admission simply because they weren't white males.

I have calmed down some. I guess what really ticks me off about this crap is that I personally knew three people who were shot because of their race in robberies in Memphis, in two different events. In both cases the victims were white and the perps were black. This was testified to by surviving black victims of the robberies.

Where is the outrage? Where is Jesse Jackson and Sharptown. Where was the media? Where was the US so-called Justice Department with their civil liberties and hate crimes charges?
Modern race baiting is bullshit, and I am tired of listen ting to the holier than thou crap on here. Fun is fun, but there is a point where it goes too far.

In one of the cases it was a robbery of a TGI Fridays where the two whites on staff at the time, the bartender and the manager, were forced to lay face down in the office and were shot in the back. The bartender survived but is paralyzed. The other robbery was of a liquor store where the white owner was shot in the face while begging for his life. The surviving black employee reported that the owner was shot because he was white. Was there outrage? Was there media coverage? Were there riots? No to all of that. Certain political figures and the media get coverage by selectively covering things that create drama.

I will try not to get mad about this crap anymore, and will certainly try not to respond anymore, but this bullshit really gets old.

One more thing,
I am looking forward to going to Manhattan and watching a good game, and I was thinking about meeting with some of the folks from here while I am there, but right now that idea leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Maybe I will change my mind about that, and maybe I won't.

Maybe I will change my mind about that, and maybe I won't.

nailed it.

Are we that shallow?

I was surprise you understood such a politically correct way of saying it.  Does that answer your question?

Joking aside, the constant "racist" jabs do get tiresome. That crap happened a long time ago. Give it a rest already.

So racism has been eliminated in Alabama?

Yup, just as much as everywhere else in the world.

That's what I figured. So don't just say "That crap happened a long time ago." It happens now.

eff you and your high horse.

Great post, Tigers. Intellectual, to say the least. BTW, you do to your 'Bama horses what you want (I can only imagine) but we don't drug our horses here and get them to be "high" horses. Guess drugging them is the only way you can have your hideous ways with them down your way.

Oh; I forgot something last night on the subject of the importance of high admission standards.  The more open standards haven't held K-State back in the area of scholarship and honors:

TOP SCHOLAR RANKINGS
 1986-2013
Public colleges and universities
state-supported schools

• Kansas State University is the only state-supported university since 1986
to rank among the Top 10 of all U.S. schools for the combined total number of
scholars in Rhodes, Marshall, Truman, Goldwater and Udall competitions.
• Among all 500 state universities, K-State ranks first nationally in Truman and
Goldwater and fourth in Udall scholarship competition since each foundation
began awarding scholarships. K-State ties for second in Rhodes and ties for
fourth in Marshall competition since 1986.
• Among all of the 2,000 four-year colleges and universities in America -- 500
public; 1,500 private -- K-State is fourth nationally in the number of Goldwater
scholarships awarded, ranks seventh in Truman and Udall competitions.
• The Truman Foundation recognized K-State in 1996 as a Truman Scholarship
Honor Institution, the first time the Foundation singled out universities for their
achievements in Truman competition. At that time, only 17 schools were chosen
from the 454 colleges and universities which have produced Truman scholars

sure im good with academics.  grew up really poor so didnt go to AU proper, only went to AU/Montgomery for a year, then enlisted and later finished my degree when I lived in ATL.  Now enrolled in GATechs MSCS program.  Sure, education is cool.  Not nearly as fun as watching football though.

Surely you dont suggest updyke behavior is normal and proper do you?  They were 2 very old trees, kind of a historic setting, and something enjoyed by the population. What do you think of the idiots that destroyed those ancient stacked rock monuments in UT?  Is it "meh whats the big deal, they are just old rocks..."

Hmmmmmmmmmm.

http://collegeapps.about.com/od/GPA-SAT-ACT-Graphs/ss/auburn-university-admission-gpa-sat-act.htm

http://collegeapps.about.com/od/GPA-SAT-ACT-Graphs/ss/kansas-state-university-admissions-gpa-sat-act.htm

That is a great thing KSU has done in providing an opportunity to those that may otherwise not have been able to get. I think KSU is a great institution, I was responding  to multiple posts suggesting that all Alabamians and Auburn alum were stupid.

Hey Auburn fans, where do you guys rank in the top scholar rankings? Pretty high I'm sure, with such high admission standards. Don't be modest, let's hear some bragging.

http://collegeapps.about.com/od/GPA-SAT-ACT-Graphs/ss/kansas-state-university-admissions-gpa-sat-act.htm

That is a great thing KSU has done in providing an opportunity to those that may otherwise not have been able to get. I think KSU is a great institution, I was responding  to multiple posts suggesting that all Alabamians and Auburn alum were stupid.

I never took your previous remarks to be directed to me, so no sweat.  I think it's silly to paint all fans of a different school or all residents of a state as stupid, but I realize that lots of folks fall back on hyperbole.

Are these AL plains Aggies serious?  Or is the joke on me? I'm confused.

Because Bubba was a minority

Because white guys were killed by black guys we're supposed to believe Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson should show up? Somehow it's their responsibility to shine a light on it? Maybe they've got enough on their plate? Like the mass incarceration of black men OR the high infant and child mortality rates in poor black neighborhoods OR the severe deficits in education that poor black kids deal with? This list could go on. But you're telling me that some white guys were killed by a black guy at a rough ridin' TGI Fridays and that is where we should discuss civil rights and racial inequality?  Jesus rough ridin' christ man. Why don't you take up that cause and get laughed at for it? Clearly no one deserves to die like that but get some perspective or maybe an education outside the state of Alabama.

Oh hi, Aweburn. Do you have any hot blondes? Where are they? Thanks.

Why does every guy at your school wear Sperry's, pleated khaki trow, a pastel polo and have Lego man haircuts, ya'll in some honky version of Hitler youth?

I don't know where you get that Alabamians are all poor welfare recipients. While there is a large percentage of those on welfare the majority of the population is comprised of hardworking tax paying Americans. The majority of the state's population leans to the right which historically is against the current entitlement programs.

While you can bash a number of the "sidewalk" fans (mainly UA fans)  for their lack of education you have no grounds to bash the alum of any of the state schools. Speaking more specifically about Auburn,  we have many distinguished alum. Maybe you have heard of Tim Cook just to name one. Auburn also consistently ranks as one of the top 50 of America's public universities.
although I know what it means, I would like to hear the background of "sidewalk" fans

We call them sidewalk alums, because the only part of campus they have been to is the sidewalk right outside of Brian Dennehy stadium.

Because they're too poor to stroll into the local wal-mart and score a sweet deal on a t-shirt, amirite?

Which then begs the question... what's worse, a sidewalk alum or a t-shirt fan?
