Probably hire Sean on the way out, give oscar an extension and give us the double birds as he peels out.
don't you people get it? it was Schultz. it was Schultz all along.dlew, some of these people place value on the sport of basketball. think about that before lowering yourself into a conversation with them.

Also, Tennessee has already had Currie on their campus. I knew a girl who played VB there, then worked in the AD. When I said "O Yeah, our AD John Currie came from there" she rolled her eyes and said, "I'm glad he left UT, no one liked him."

I follow college sports for A) entertainment and B) to watch my team win. Weber isn't very good at either. At least with Frank you'd get at least one of those and usually both.

JFC has been running circles around this blog's hive mind for years. He probably opens it up occasionally just to see the souls he's destroyed fritter away their worthless aimless lives.
I swear on my life that JC has an assistant who checks this blog daily. It could even be captain crap or blackcats, but I doubt it is. Probably some poor intern.

Doesn't surprise me. Knowing the little slice I get from a few people associated with the Athletic department, JC is a micromanager and obsessed about imagery. To assign have someone(s) to regularly keep a pulse on the goings ons from the outside of k-state athletics sounds exactly like something he would do.
I don't think Florida is stupid enough to hire CurrieIt wouldn't be wise of any school to until he hires Snyder's replacement

No one of any significance is going to hire the guy that hired oscar Weber.

Someday I want to do a John Currie interview outfit for every P5 school thread.

I'm conflicted about ADJC leaving. He's the reason we have Oscar (good riddance), but he's Jack Nicholson in A Few Good Men in keeping us from HC Sean Snyder (I want him on that wall, I need him on that wall).
But if he leaves, I'm 100% in favor of hiring Cheyenne Zulu away from ku just for the trolling value.

is there any doubt that when cur-dog leaves, hocutt comes home and makes snyder retire then hires his best bud brent?

"I would never do what LHC Bill Snyder did and take a place like Kansas State," he says. "I don't want to do that. That's torture! I don't want to live like that. I want to wake up and feel good about what I'm doing and be very confident and passionate about what I'm doing."
Currie would probably make a good conference commissioner for a non power 5

Would really excel at organizing snack schedule for third grade soccer. Orange slices after every game.
i can't figure out what's going on with duke, they've been pretty good the past three seasons, winning 10, 9, 8, games but this season has been a disasterdid Cutcliff lose some key assistants?
So our current interim president is just going to hire whatever AD that Bill recommends, right?

he's like a 70 star army man general. he makes his own decisions pete. and his decision should obviously be to hire hocutt immediately whether we can trick someone into hiring currie or not.

Construction had begun prior to the 2012-2013 season, and therefore, planning & design & engineering as well as fundraising must have begun prior to the 2011-2012 season. And that was 5 years ago! I don't know why so many fans always want to discredit Currie's accomplishments? The amount of donations that KSU has received with an average record of 8-5 over the past 3 years since we won the Big 12 is quite good, IMO.
And I don't remember the Martin departure being messy. Martin was looking to leave for the 2nd straight year, and he finally found a taker. Then Weber won the Big 12 with the same team that Martin had finished 5th with the year before (minus Jamar Samuels too). I think KSU got the better end of that deal!
Is it an actual rule that the Big 12 enforces schools to schedule a P5 con-con opponent each season, or is it just suggested? If it is a rule, then I stand corrected, credit should not be given to Currie for that. But I will say that having a concert (since there was a road non-con game) was really smart! I read where it had 15,000-18,000 as the attendance...which is what you'd have in the Sprint Center in KC for a concert, or a football game in lawrence. And it was a great concert by the spectacular Zac Brown Band, some of the best performers that are out right now!

Cutcliffe is a damn good coach that just can't handle a high profile gig. Put him somewhere with low expectations, and you'll get what he's doing at Duke.
Their stadium renovations look really nice.

He's growing on me, he was so pissed when we kicked that field goal at the beginning of the second quarter last night.

He had a little mini tantrum when we settled for the field goal in the second quarter. He tried so hard to control himself but he showed outward negative emotion. Kynard then came over and gave him a huge hug that seemed to pep him up. Kynard's shoes were fire btw. Another sidenote but I saw the different black people give Currie full embrace, no side hug, last night.

Nah, he just hangs out near my section quite a bit. He did say hello on the concourse before the Missouri State game. I also ran into him at both home soccer matches I attended and at the volleyball match yesterday.
not in the running for any P5 job.
He's in that sweet spot where we'll never fire him but no one else will hire him.
not in the running for UT
really interesting. people inside the UT AD said there was no chance of this happening as recent as a week ago. he's not exactly loved in that office.apparently only really rich people like him
Does Snyder take this opportunity to retire now? With his good friend as president they can work out a situation where he essentially gets to pick his successor. We all know who that is now waiting at Oregon with his out clause.Bill's not whipping cancers ass to not make one last run with the People's Stiff Arm but I hope he is cashing in his 25 years of chips to make the Leavitt thing happen

If John Currie is a true KSU Wildcat, look for him to make an announcement shortly stating he has NO interest in the Tennessee job.

It would be. But how much of the staff would Leavitt actually change? And with the wildcard of who is going to be the AD, how many times do you get the opportunity to hand pick who your successor is. Its a pretty good window here.

Does Bill get a scenario any better for Sean to be interim HC?

Might be in place by spring game now, who knows. Myers will let Bill do whatever he wants.
I believe with all my heart that Bill has moved on from that misguided thought and Leavitt's Oregon contract is my proof I am clinging toMight be in place by spring game now, who knows. Myers will let Bill do whatever he wants.
This is almost perfect for Bill.
Even if the other assistants don't want to work for Sean, what option do they have? Plus Sean inherits a good team. It would only be interim I think, but he'd get a test drive. If Bill is still serious about Sean for HC, his ideal window just opened.

Do you think Snyder smiled for the 18th time in his life at this news? You think JC gave a courtesy call on the way out the door?
Fitz was on BITB today and said that it has been Leavitt all along. Sean was just Bill's way of throwing jabs at Currie since he did not want to Sean to have the job.
Thanks, barely hanging on tonight though. No worries. Rest well. Just have thought that for a while and wanted to say it.
I'm pretty sure the "Sean for HC" movement was more manufactured by boards like this than anything else. There is no indication Sean ever wanted the job, even if Bill thought he was the best candidate.

Fulmer has one of the biggest egos in Knoxville. Part of that may be true, but he mainly wanted his name in lights again. He is not happy.

It's the truth about his ego. In the time period from the 2001 SEC champ game loss to LSU through his firing in 2008, he used up a lot of political capital. There are a lot of people (prob majority) who wouldn't say a cross word about him, but there are quite a few who feel like his stubbornness in those later years was unnecessary and selfish.Fulmer has one of the biggest egos in Knoxville.
