Listening to a new true crime podcast about BTK.  Pretty terrifying/interesting.

Slogged through the first episode on this.  Man, this guy is dull.   Took 6:40 into the episode to even begin talking about something other than their social media accounts and other BS.     It's like 2 guys sitting in their basement talking about watching 48hrs.   No production value, no pacing, meh.

Finished up the backlog of Crimetown.   Enjoyed it quite a bit...

I've never looked through this thread, apologize if they have been mentioned.  A friend raves about the Big XII Country podcast.  Anybody lisen to it? Worthwhile?

I have some strong feelings re: Joe Rogan.

Post them ITT.  I've been listening to his pod lately and have a higher opinion of him now.

Also, a friend is starting a podcast with aspirations to make it a full time job. Another acquaintance of mine did the same thing, so I know it's possible.  I'm kinda thinking of testing the waters myself.

I've posted some in this thread already.

Basically, the dude is all of a sudden into archery hunting.  A good bit of the hunting community loves him because he's giving hunting some positive exposure, and also because he likes MMA stuff, which I guess some hunting dudes like too.  But I'm not so sure "we" ought to embrace the guy just because he has a huge following.  Ya, he's not nearly the bad person I previously thought he was, so that's good.  But, dude dropped a bucket of cash to go shoot some private land giant elk on some super exclusive California ranch.  That's super lame, IMO.

There's some other stuff too I can't readily recall, but he's like a 4/7 for me.  I can't imagine myself listening to him much since I can't keep up with the ones I actually like.

emo, would your podcast be about hunting?

I think you do a very good job blogging about that here.

4/7 is pretty fair.  I'd probably give him a 5/7 but I've never watched fear factor or seen him do standup

Ya.  There is a very underserved part of the market right now.  Like there are a dozen western big game specific podcasts, and maaaaybe one that covers this subject, and I think the pool of potential listeners is substantial.

I'm going to a podcast launch party next week and I'm going to ask a lot of questions.  Is there a way to see how many subscribers certain podcasts have?  I need some analytics man.  Then I need to see what kind of subscribership would bear sponsors that pay money (not just gear).  I have some in's and could probably pick up some sponsors but they're not going to give me money just because we're friends--would have to make business sense.

Also I had this idea of producing a video wherein a group of dudes (gals welcome) hunt/fish from Alaska in summer all the way down through the lower 48 ending in Arizona, all public land DIY stuff.  The time/cash/equipment investment would be a lot more obviously, profitability less likely, longer wait, etc.  But a guy can dream.

I really, really want to podcast again.

podcast I would do and would be relatively easy to launch w/ FAN's help-
Big 12 podcast

I have another idea for a podcast that would be tougher and all on me, and probably a tougher audience to build, but probably easier to get sponsors
