Win a Big 12 conference football championship or a national title in one of the minor sports? My thinking is that for national branding and prestige wise, the football crown is by far more valuable, but I'd be interested in hearing insights and wisdon of this hi-IQ sport community.

Bud, no one gives two shits about the big 12 championships we already have. Let's be real, no one would give a crap about any ncaa championship we win either, but a track and field national championship gets us off that graphic.

Exactly this.  It would be nice if we could be elite at one minor sport.  But oh well.  Not that important.

My response is that K-State has won something like 38 national championships by individual track & field athletes in their respective events.  So what if it wasn't a "team" title.

I could honestly go either way regarding FB vs. MBB titles. Never sniffed a FB natty, so I don't know what that feeling would be like. MBB titles are pretty great, though, because of the whole run through the tournament, and the agony and the ecstasy rises the further you advance. It's intense.
