Supposedly Disney has been flirting with a third park in the US for a while, and supposedly KC is one of the possible locations. It doesn't make sense to me due to the seasonal weather issues and the need for the mouse to grind money 24/7/365, but I have heard it from people who deal in development in this area. I first heard it in 2007 before the recession and am hearing it again as of a few months ago. If they are, they should lean in and imply it's not a third, but a new home. It would take a few years to build one anyway, might as well use those years to freak the eff out of Floridians and milk that for all they can.
A true move would gut the eff out of central Florida. An office relocation is one thing, but if the park left, the fallout of losing all the surrounding area tourism supported businesses would prob equate to more financial damage than the last decade of hurricanes have caused in FL.
