last few posts are bummer town USA.

I think I need to go to the game October 1, to say goodbye for myself once and for all to these bros.

Guys I have thoroughly enjoyed talking Royals baseball for the last 5 years with you, as this thread became the most popular thread on this here blog. I will continue to enjoy talking Roys with you, but we all know it won't be the same for a while and even a playoff race approaching what we've had the last couple years is probably several years into the future. I guess it will be fun following no name guys come up and hopefully the next group of Roy studs, but these years of successful Roys BBSing have been some of the most fun times talking sports I've had on any blog (up there with Frank basketball, 11-12 FB, early 2000s FB).

It's been fun _FAN!

I'm not going to argue with you, PP. You clearly have an axe to grind against Alex for whatever reason. I hope you feel better soon.

I only have an axe to grind because of his performance this year.  I almost never critisized him from 13-16'.

He has gone from a decent Offensive player & great D player to a lousy O player and a good D player.

I hate to tell you, but I'm not in the minority in believing that his season has better an utter disappointment.  Kennedy is in that same boat. And most people see big salary and bad season as a big factor. And they should

Those two are part of it, but we had this discussion a couple weeks ago. It would be hard to put either as top 5 factors ultimately for this not being a playoff team. The front office trying to combine winning now with building for the future (highlighted by the Wade Davis trade) is the overarching theme that led to current state of this season.

First 30 games-- Offense scores only 82 runs. Almost a historical number (2.7 per game)

Middle 73 games -- Offense puts up 5.1 runs/g and Team ERA a decent 4.35

Last 43 games-- Team ERA an abysmal 5.80

*** Played Solid ball for 73 (45-28 record) but the other 73 was combo of awful run scoring and then very poor Team ERA. Too poor to overcome

Good win for the ballclub at the Cleveland ballpark. Today's game was such a metaphor for life.

I didn't get to watch or listen, but I'm really happy we won. Go Roys.

You missed clutch hitting combining with clutch pitching. Bullpen was good.

i think it'd be great if moose ended his royals career tied with the great balboni.

Anyone else headed to the K on Sunday against the D backs?  I'm going to stand with 40,000 of my best friends and send our guys out right.

Also congrats SdK. Alex's HR tonight set the single season HR total record in the history of MLB. One shining moment.
