air france. scott is posting some cheap flight to europe several times a week it seems like. the (relatively) new cross atlantic discount airlines seem to be having the desired effect.

Flying to Edinburgh, Waldorf Caledonian, Virgin train to London, London Edition, flying home from London. Seems like I would be doing more things for 3/4 of a million points/miles. BUT NOPE.

I can't value shop non-family travel redemptions now. I have 1 babysitter I trust for more than 4 hour spans and she lives an 8 hour drive from us and is busy AF herself. If I can get her to commit to a 7 night babysitting trip I'm making high rate yolo bookings from here on out. Or until I can abandon my kids to fend for themselves.

This uber card doesn't seem bad if you're out of the chase/points game. I thought for a second I should get it for next May when I won't have a sapphire until next September, but I'm hoping I'll do fine using chase hyatt for the things I normally use sapphire for, or maybe the 5x category for freedom will line up well at that time.
