fledgling whiskey enthusiast here with a question: do you guys just truck through a bottle before moving on to the next one, or do you open multiple bottles to sip whatever tickles your fancy? If the latter, do you take any steps to preserve the open bottle?

I usually have anywhere between 10-15 open bottles at any given time and a few more unopened bottles.  These are all currently open bottles that I'm working on.

Why haven't you poured out that Johnnie Walker Blue yet

Nope.  Our deck is amazing.  Just had it built two years ago.

I got that as a gift for Christmas this year.   I made the mistake of buying a bottle of 750 ml JWB a few years ago.  I'm not a real big fan of any of the Johnnie Walker's(they're not terrible, just not great.)  I have a friend that wants to try it so saving it for when he comes over.

i think that was IPA4ME (and also, me i guess).  lopak seems to bring it IMO

So you know what's the best? Having a roomate who dates a liquor rep.....Every time she would stay at the house she would bring in some random box full of liquor and just forget about it. Roommate moved in with the GF over the summer but they left 4 boxes of liquor in my garage and basement. After 1 month everything left became fair game.

Most of the stuff was shitty liquers and random terrible stuff I gave away but I've been drinking free Woodford Reserve/Knob Creek/Breck distillery/Jack Daniels single barrel for the past 6 months.

Only have half a bottle of JD single barrel left
