I'm admittedly partial, but I really enjoy 1835 as an anytime whiskey. Very tasty and very affordable. My special occasion whiskey is garrison brothers and that stuff is just delightful.

I've seen a lot of recipes for an old fashioned, but my pref is 1835, simple syrup, dash of bitters, splash of water. Ice is acceptable.

The only thing I will mix with garrison brothers is the glass I poured it into. To mix or dilute with anything else is accurately described under article 4 of the Geneva convention as a crime against humanity.

My dad gave me a bottle of Single Barrel E.H. Taylor, Jr. bourbon. It comes from the buffalo trace family and is very very good.

Also, Bastille is a French-made bourbon (don't ask) that is carried at Bourbon and Baker. It's a very tasty and smooth bourbon for those that enjoy your whiskey neat and prefer it to be smoother.

I like adding the grapefruit ones to IPAs. The rhubarb is my favorite with whiskey. The chocolate is really good in white Russians.
