Red Tractors rule, and Green Tractors drool.  LOL GregKSU, I grew up in the '60s and '70s and I can tell you the amount of bragging rights/hate between IH and JD owners.  All other tractor makes and models just didn't matter when the goatling/put-downs started.
Hot time in Kat town tonight.

A fully ripe wheat field really gets the ole juices flowing.
I really enjoy the contrast between a blue Kansas sky and the bright golden color of the straw in a freshly harvested wheat field.

Yup. Up until Russia invaded Ukraine I had no idea that Ukraine's flag symbolized a wheat feild and the sky.

Got some hail out at the cat ranch, our crop farmer sent us a picture of the neighbors corn.

We planted some Milo about 2 weeks ago but no idea if we got any damage.

That about makes a guy sick to his stomach to see that. Hopefully the damage wasn't widespread.

Drove past some (previously) very nice looking corn that had gotten shredded by hail in central KS last week.

Every year, the corn plants amaze me with how fast they can grow. It seems like one week they are tiny baby corn plants just barely peaking out of the ground and you blink and they are towering over you.

Only planted about 100 acres of Milo (other 300ish acres is going into wheat this fall) but according to our crop farmer it got hailed out.

2 years of drought and when the rain finally comes it brings hail

Points is an IRLthing people in NWKS say...also my brother works for an event company that sets up parking etc for music festivals. A couple of weeks ago one of their employees or contractors got in a minibike accident and put a tree limb through a shin so their bummer insurance provider said "NO MORE COMPANY OWNED MINIBIKES" and now I'm bringing one out to the farm.

No negative consequences

my dad has a mini bike on his ranch and I may be the only person to have ever ridden it. he got it thinking his cowboys or himself could move cattle down long corral alleyways without having to walk it. can't turn a four wheeler in the alleys so mini bike made sense to him. then he realized he has to get it there and back from the other end and wtf was he even thinking, lmao.

Yeah, a minibike was definitely what the cat ranch needed.
