Think of the amount of alumni around the US, along with bars in Kansas that will look into it, at least for the first football game.

Essentially All Access/Passport with more stuff on it. All live games shown in HD, like the EKU game live. Coaches shows, Landon Lectures, Volleyball games, basketball games, baseball games, whatever else they can show. I'm not sure if it is accessible through your PS3, Xbox360, iPad, etc.

Well, the way they make it sound is you can hook it up to your hd tv and view it there. I'm not sure about them saying it will work on a personal computer, you would think that it would work though.

I had the same problem last week. However a few minutes ago i just went to kstatesports.com, under the multimedia went to k-statehd.tv, click here to subscribe, then i entered user id and password i had from Colorado game last year, after that it took me right to the page where i picked 9.95 or 79.95 option.

ya saul, pic quality is better (not great, not HD, but not as bad as it was) however the choppyness is brutal. it looks like its dropping a ton of frames during any type of action.
They need to tell the fans at the match to stay still and not clap. That would leave less data to process and improve picture quality.

Watching him go through my old dicks really brought back some memories. It was pretty amusing trying to explain why I had so many Derek Anderson dicks, who John Starks was and why did I have so many of the same dicks.
After finding out that Kobe Bryant’s dick is worth around $5,000 I had to look up the value of the rest of my NBA dicks. Let’s just say they weren’t the $5,000 ones.
I could see the love I used to have for collecting dicks in my son’s eyes and I knew it was going to cost me. He couldn’t wait to go buy a sackful of dicks and see what he could find.
We quickly realized that it’s not as easy to find dick shops anymore. It seems that collecting dicks is just not cool enough for kids to take a break from their PlayStation.
You can find a few dicks at Walmart, but they might be a year or two old. We did manage to get some dicks from this year and hoped to pull a John Wall dick, but 14 sacks later and we had no luck.
One day on the way to the office my son noticed that the little building across from the Times-Tribune had a sign up that read, Brian’s Grab Bag -o- Dick. Although it was around 9:30 p.m. he ran to the light like a moth to a flame.
Sure enough Brian was cramming his dicks into bags and he let my son in. It only took a couple of minutes to notice that this was the coolest dick shop I had ever been in. The coolest part was that Brian used to work at a dick shop that I bought dicks from several years ago.
It took us a few minutes to lose that dear-in-the-headlights look and we started spotting all the dicks of the former Kentucky players. I’m talking John Wall, Demarcus Cousins, Patrick Patterson, Eric Bledsoe and Daniel Orton dicks. The best part was he had autographed dicks from each player. He also had dicks with game worn jersey pieces in them.
I couldn’t believe how much dicks had changed over the years. Granted they are much more expensive than they were when I was cashing in pop bottles, but they are worth it.

I had this issue too, their site has some bugs they need to fix. I'm guessing that you have an old account that you are trying to reactivate. If so, login and then try watching a premium video. It will ask you to subscribe and the two options should be there then.

Thanks. Just tried that. Website's a complete disaster. I haven't yet found one archived football video that works from years past, it all just says "no OnDemand content." Then I clicked on last year's hoops squad and it actually shows up as having OnDemand content, but it had a little padlock graphic and said I needed to login to access it. But right underneath, it said "Logout." As in, you're already logged in. Wut.

They switched web hosts this summer and the platform is brand new. If you had an old account you will need to re-subscribe with the new provider.

Pretty sure it's really just Currie's call and that he'd rather have at least one game on KStateHD instead of FS regional at 11am or on ESPN 3. The only way I see the annual KStateHD game going away is if Currie leaves or we stop playing easy teams in the noncon, which is to say no time soon.

I'm for whatever gets the most fans to view the game, and Kstate HD.tv is not that option imo. It doesn't really affect me because it's always a game I don't mind skipping, but "your" ignorant if you think think it doesn't cause a problem for lots of fans, especially older ones that are confused why they need to hook up a computer to the TV to watch.
That doesn't even get into how hit or miss the stream quality is or that you have to subscribe and then unsubscribe to not get scammed into paying forever.

It was both. They had it available on television on directv and locally on Cox Cable in Oklahoma, Arkansas, North Texas, and Wichita. It was on soonersports.com for $60 freaking bucks for everyone else.

Chrome on the ipad doesn't have a casting option at all, but I just found some ipad app that's a browser-ish thing and it ID's the videos on the page and makes them available to cast. Looks like it works alright on my home setup with the free KSTATEO videos that are on their page. Guess I'll take the whole setup to the bar when it's not too busy and try it out.
I know the TVs in the lounge areas of my building have the apple airplay/drop/whatever thing in or on them and it looks like that's available in chrome on ipad so that'd be an option too.

I haven't done it for a game yet. I just did that this morning, and confirmed it works to cast whatever the first video that comes up on kstatehd. I think it was about a women's sports team riding a boat down a european lagoon.

Dumb down for me how that works, because I had the impression that apple tv was just the apple version of a chromecast and I'd still have to be playing something on my ipad right there for it to show up on the screen. It's not an outrageous ask, but it'd be fine even it was. People ask for games all the time and sometimes bars can get them and sometimes they can't. I'm just going to buy them the thing that will make sure they can as it relates to me.
There'll be synergy with the KSTATEO jar of dog snacks that's now permanently featured behind the bar.

You don't have to AirPlay it from your ipad/iphone (although you can). The Apple TV allows you to download any of the apps (like WatchESPN or FoxSports Go) so you can watch stand alone programs/games on your TV. I only recommend Apple TV because I have one and it works really well. I think the sticks are convenient because they are small, but from what I researched, the much better processor of an Apple TV allows for a more consistent/better quality stream to your TV.

It's fast and consistent as far as I can tell. I think they already are familiar with this sort of crap, but as it relates to streaming music. It's not a sports bar. The official KSU watch party and the rest of those people is over at BWW.
This thing looks just right, huh? Easy to plug in and could even switch TVs with ease as needed? And on the WatchESPN access they describe, I'm guessing it would play free stuff (now these KSU games?) without any login, but we could use my comcast login or they're multiple cable provider logins or the shared espn3 login we all use anytime to get access to higher-level stuff?

I read this to say there are now like multi-tiers within the K-State tier 3 rights. While K-State used to post content on K-State HD, ESPN 3 now has first dibs on whether they want to pick it up. If not, Fox Sports gets a shot. If they don't want it, then it gets put on K-State HD. There is no longer a paid subscription option for K-State HD, so technically everything on it is "free," but that only includes the stuff that ESPN and Fox both passed on.

Maybe, but I have never heard of that. Several bars in Wichita would show WSU basketball games only available on ESPN3.com and were very public about it.
As long as bars are not charging people to come watch the game then there shouldn't be an issue.

Tier III Radio Network/FoxSports/K-StateHDTV: $4.40 million
This year it's about $34 million/$4.7 million
I'd say that kstatehdtv is a very small portion of that Tier III, and I would not be surprised if they actually equalled the money in advertising sales for a broader audience not blocked by a pay wall.

ESPN3 pays rights fees to K-State for FB game (+ other sports). Those fees will be equal or greater than money K-State used to get from kstatehdtv subscriptions. Plus greater distribution / easier access /more exposure.

I would not be surprised if they actually equalled the money in advertising sales for a broader audience not blocked by a pay wall.

ESPN3 pays rights fees to K-State for FB game (+ other sports). Those fees will be equal or greater than money K-State used to get from kstatehdtv subscriptions. Plus greater distribution / easier access /more exposure.

Unless we are getting paid a good amount of money for it, moving the game to ESPN3 is titanically stupid.

Currie was pretty open about how much money we were getting from KStateHDtv, I wonder if we'll get similar candor with this deal. I also wonder what effect this has on our deal with Learfield. SIDEARM Sports is now owned by Learfield. Obviously we were getting two bites of the apple with CBS owning the rights to KStateHDtv and Learfield getting the rest of the tier 3 rights. That $4 million was only from KStateHDtv and not from any of the radio or advertising rights fees that we were getting from Learfield as well. There are a lot of layers to this onion.

That number can be found in a couple of different places using the same vernacular, $4 million from KStateHDtv, alone. It's possible that this is just an incorrect number quoted by multiple journalists, FWIW Blair Kerkhoff is the first to use this number and he did in in May of 2015, he said it was from 2014. Total Tier III is about $4.5 million. I'm on my phone, but got to the Kstate site, look under Department/Financial/Audited Report 2016, page 3 or 4ish in the 2016 summary. It goes up this year.

Even I feel K-State is making less, moving the game to ESPN3 does more to improve fan experience than anything else K-State could do for the same amount of money.
We're talking about one game against a pud and some Olympic sports, I can't imagine that's making or breaking fans.
