I liked Aoki, but I Dont fault Dayton for looking for a bat that had more power. Even if he is a solid RF, 11 mill was a few mill too high for Rios, but they clearly wanted him and overpaid.
I'm not gonna judge Rios totally off of these past 2 weeks, just as I'm not judging his good 1st 7 games and say he was going to be a great player.
Right now, he is struggling and not hitting well. He had to be better not only to somewhat justify his contract, but to justify him being our RF
Fwiw....Aoki was hitting in the .250s with no power in a good portion of June and July, and a lot of peeps weren't loving him or loving him hitting leadoff putting up those numbers.
