Another feature of sitcoms: the order you watch the eps does not matter at all
Sort of, but most sitcoms still follow a loose dramatic arc. Seinfeld' "a show about nothing" was more the exception than the rule. Friends, Cheers, Office all followed arcs as they aged. I agree you don't need a laugh track.
This thread would be more interesting if it's was "second best sitcom." Seinfeld is obviously the best and it's not even close.
Second place would probably be Cheers although many younger people would argue Friends. The Cosby Show is way up there and doesn't get enough love these days. Office, Modern Family, Frazier, Mad About You, and King of Queens probably round out the next tier.
I don't get people who like shows like Big Bang Theory and That 70s Show. Never found them that funny.
