Title: Chings B-Day / 4 Olives / Egg / Baseball Pak
Post by: weird roberts foam finger on April 19, 2010, 02:39:18 PM
So I made it back to Manhattan this week for a pretty epic event -- Chingon turned 50!*  As expected, good times were had by all.

(*Just spitballing here - no clue how old he really is)

We started the Pak off with a fancy surprise dinner at 4 Olives where WRFF met up with Mr. KK.  Mr. KK had a very fetching Rodney Dangerfield look going, while WRFF was all over the proper protocol here as well (someone who shall remain nameless showed up in shorts  ).  Thanks to the stimulating dinner conversation, the night flew by.  (We laughed several times at the non-elites who didn't make the invitation cut.)

Next morning was Eggpak (pt. 2) with some fantastic brunch at Chingon's before eventual trip to take in the BatKatz destroy Baylor.  Following are some photos from said BatKatz game:

Beautiful Tointon Family Stadium.

Willie the Wildcat.

Weird Robert yelling at the Baylor players.  In this photo, I believe he was calling for a double play with two outs.

WRFF with the wife.  (Note elite goEMAW.com attire.)

Chingon with his own invention -- combofan baseball. (Note the knuckleball handsign addition to the standard lynch mob sign.)  Also of note: Chings performed a double fist pump whilst doing the Wabash during the 7th inning stretch.  The spectacle of this was simply awe-inspiring.

Later that evening we enjoyed Little Apple's 15th Anniversary with close friend Wally Judge (he's ready to dominate next year :ksu:) before finishing our night with drinks at Aggieville.

Pretty great 'Pak, all in all.   :users:

My husband has elite Photoshoppak skills.

Also: Weird Robert = the thinking man's Lloyd Dobbler, Mr. KK's wife is hilair, and Willie is in fact a minotaur.

That's why I don't get people slagging on Willie for being a manimal -- so are freakin' minotaurs.

Mostly completely surprised.  He noticed the brunch fixins' in the fridge but that got played off well by future mrs. chings.     Then the idiot hostess at the restaurant said something about "the rest of the group is already here" or some such.  :curse:  Still, he was caught off guard.

Shirt says "Go Hornets" in Hebrew. :fatty:

Sort of.  It's spelled out phonetically, the letters correspond with the sounds that would produce "Go Hornets" but it is probably just jibberish.

No.

I work for the Jewish community in New Orleans, so WRFF often gets supercool phonetic Hebrewpak gear.

I once saw a KSU hillel shirt with the old school Willie wearing a yamulka and a tallit.  Need to find one of those.  :katpak:

Not sure who was in charge of invites (I suspect it was Mr. KK), but I'm guessing yours got lost in the mail or something.   :)

Either that or they didn't like you.  :users:

in all fairness, mrs. soon to be chingon talked to me and mrs daris about this little shindig around a month or two ago. i strongly cautioned her about certain board members. didn't outright tell her who to invite and who not to invite...but the words "bad seed" were muttered more than once.

I suspect the gorgeous future Mrs. Chings nodded sagely at each utterance thereof.
