AAU coach expects him to hear from K-State, but nothing yet.

Interesting comment at the end of the Kellis article on recruiting.

I know from personal contacts that Coach Martin is trying to get a point guard out of a Junior College in Colorado. I know this kid and for a fact he is quicker than Clemente, can shoot the eyes out of the basket and at 5'11" can stand under the rim and dunk with both hands. Kid is an animal. He is a great kid who had some tough breaks but came out as a shining example of what hard work and dedication will do. Last year, in an AAU game, he put 30 something on Michael Dixon and Dixon didn't show up for their next 2 meetings. As a Tiger fan I hate to see it, but he is the real deal.

Doing some digging here: http://www.njcaa.org/colleges.cfm

That site is ridiculous to navigate though and very slow.

Looking through those schools, I'd guess its Widgett Washington.  KC area kid, so it makes sense he would've played against Denmon.  Probably a full qualifier that went JUCO, he'd be a SO next year if he recruited him.  All speculation right now though.

Widgett Washington 6’1 Milestone- big strong point guard with a great feel for the game. Very tough player that seemed to bully most guards that was trying to defend him. Very athletic as he finished several plays above the rim.

Doubt he was a full qualifier.  His high school listed is Milestone Christian Academy (which is the same one Nino went too for a while).  Also, he played a game at "Rick Ball's Juco Jamboree".

Honestly, if we are even recruiting the kid, hope he is a real DITR.  But this searching the NJCAA site and googling names reminds me entirely too much of following late signing period recruiting in the days of old K-State basketball.

KSU recruiting since November of 2008 isn't wildly different from the old days of K-State basketball.  :dunno:

Probably are talking to this kid, but as an '11 recruit and back-up plan.  Probably somebody to keep an eye on his sophomore season.    :users:

Exactly what I thought.  And he'll probably be a high level JUCO recruit next year like BY was as a soph.
