Guys, I don't know but I have been told there is absolutely nothing to do in New York City.  Can't believe they are allowed to host a bowl game.

I think we should all meet Thursday Morning around 8 in Jersey and do a little fistpumping then head over to Carlos Bakery in Hoboken for a cupcake then roll into the city and have a coffee at Central Perk.

That fracking city stinks.  I mean, we're talking overflowing toilet stinks.  Just because half of you guys own all 6 seasons of Sex in the City, don't get your hopes up about NYC.

A) It's winter, even if it stank it wouldn't stink
B) It doesn't even stink in summer
C) Congrats on bean prices being high

Oh, it stinks in winter, mark my words.  Take a deep breath on the streets sometime and let the stale urine smell linger in your nostrils for hours.

New York is fantastic in the winter. Just amazing. Can't wait to head out to see the 'cats.

The only real downside I see to this is the inevitable running into the ground of little/big apple references.

Would love to see a send-off video of the cats jumping on AA direct from Manhattan, complete with video from the airplane windows of "flyover country."
"How will I recruit to Manhattan? Well, distance. And the proud state of basketball. It start there, and then daily flights to Dallas, because I'm really good at going out. Like top five good. Ask my wife. She wants me to be happy."

Meh. One of the greatest things about New York is that people like this tend not to visit. And if they do, don't stay for too long.

Quote
The attractiveness of a 21st-century bowl game at Yankee Stadium will be tested with a Pinstripe matchup that features a revived Syracuse team and Kansas State, from the Big 12.

In the weeks before the teams were announced, 32,000 of 50,000 tickets were sold, about half to the Big East and the Big 12. The advance sale, Levine said, is a tribute to the “appeal of Yankee Stadium” — which last hosted a college postseason game, the Gotham Bowl, in 1962. Only 6,166 fans attended in the old stadium. But these are different, much more commercial days; the Yankees are aggressively courting nonbaseball business throughout the year. They sold the title sponsorship to the Pinstripe Bowl to New Era, the cap company, for more than $500,000; an additional $2 million has come from other sponsors, including Hess, Ford, Benjamin Moore and Pepsi, which are also Yankees or Yankee Stadium sponsors. ESPN’s rights fee, in the mid-six figures, adds to the revenue.

The agreement by ESPN to carry the Pinstripe Bowl gives it an even firmer grip on the bowl game market and lets it enhance existing business connections.

When Yankee Stadium hosted the Gotham Bowl in 1962, I believe Nubbs was one of the opponents.
