Title: New Slang Terms
Post by: Pete on March 23, 2023, 05:05:50 PM
How about a thread where we come provide the public service of explaining what new slang terms or phrases mean.

This thread could also be used for announcements about when it’s safe for our older posters (e.g guys who have shook Chad May’s hand) to use new slang terms, or conversely to come here and reinforce that certain slang terms should best be avoided by older posters until explicitly being told otherwise.

Punching the clown, or in its infinitive form "to punch the clown," refers to masturbation, especially of the male variety. See also, "to polish the bishop."

Having a kid in middle school or high school is also a suitable replacement

Rizz makes me laugh, but you and the rest of us, are too old to use it. What's even better than rizz are people who respond to someone trying to flex rizz and tag them as a sexual harizzer

I just remembered a year or two ago my bar trivia team missed out on first place because one of the categories was slang terms and none of us knew what the hell "no cap" meant.  The team that beat us had some youngsters and they got that question right.    :D

WTF is going on with us missing on Baby Gronk?  Somebody on the KSU staff should get off their ass and check tic toc and whatever social media is around to pick up on these prospects.  There's no excuse for LSU to get him over KSU.  Yea, I know we're talking around the 2030s, but if we are going to rule the Big XII we need to keep looking ahead.

I hope you're understanding it correctly. Sounds dirty AF

Through skillful use of context clues, I believe that I can approach an understanding of the definition of the word “glaze,” if not fully grasp its spiritual street meaning.

Quote

"when you are meatriding someone or sucking up to them." In more laments terms, glazing is when you gas up and excessively compliment someone to the point where it's just cringe and annoying.

Long odds that I will ever use that one, but we live in interesting times.

You guys think we will ever get to say the C word as much as the Brits and Australians?
You can already do this with your buds if you use any exaggerated british/irish/scottish/aus/nz accent.
It just sounds very mean and not light hearted in American English, though

Good points.  I long for it to move into the casual non-mean realm.

you know where i see it used a lot - admittedly only in written form i don't suppose i've actually heard anybody say these words...but if a lady is being kinda sassy or maybe just not GAF in general, then i've seen the kids saying "she was serving absolute C" the use of "absolute" is optional, for added emphasis.

Instead of calling it a SB watch party maybe refer to it as The Function. Go back to the 90s with your SB watch party.

Mostly where I hear it in the States is when one guy friend wants to tell another guy friend that he's out of line. "Stop being cunty." But I agree with the premise that we should incorporate it into the vernacular like the Brits.
