"I will be at Clemson forever and Clemson is the only school for me. I get paid $1.3 million a year and that's enough for me. If a school came along offering me 4 times that, I wouldn't even consider it. However, 4 times that and a new GMC Yukon Denali from Briggs auto may just make me think twice." - BV

Well he never actually says he won't take a head coaching job. He just says he doesn't need one. That can easily be converted into "Clemson is a great place and it takes a special offer to leave, but when your alma mater comes calling that a truely special opportunity."

But would it compare to our meltdown?

You mean the meltdown we'll have when they announce it's Sean?

Venables says he turned down a chance to interview for a "good" Power Five job this year, and the last job he interviewed for was at Arkansas in 2012. Venables says he is unlikely to take a job outside a Power Five conference and he'll be particular going forward. (His $1.4 million salary certainly prices him out of a lot of jobs.) "I would never do what LHC Bill Snyder did and take a place like Kansas State," he says. "I don't want to do that. That's torture! I don't want to live like that. I want to wake up and feel good about what I'm doing and be very confident and passionate about what I'm doing."

Good thing The Structure is no longer a place like Kansas State.

He obviously meant he won't take over a loser and that he wants a job where things are already doing well.

Quote
K-State head coach LHC Bill Snyder (Sean’s father) praised not only his son’s special teams work, but his global approach to benefitting the Wildcats’ football program: “If there’s anybody that would be here earlier in the morning or stay later at night, that would be (Sean). All of our coaches work extremely hard, but Sean’s got so much on his plate. Aside from dealing with the special teams, as he does with coordinating all of that, just virtually anything and everything that takes place — our interaction with the administration goes through Sean, our interaction with our strength development arena, our nutritional arena, with our medical aspect, with the equipment aspect, with our video aspect, game day operations that takes place — he handles all of that.”

The admin communication goes through Sean because Snyder and Currie don't talk to each other.

Any rumblings on the Clemson boards?

Believe he's staying.

Good ol' tightwad Bill:
Quote
. Mike and Bob Stoops stumped for him to get the linebackers coach job, and Snyder reluctantly agreed after making Venables wait months for an answer. He finally hired Venables on an interim basis, paying him as a graduate assistant through the spring. When Snyder offered him a contract, it was for $33,000 per year. Mike Stoops was ticked that Snyder paid him so little, and when he walked down the hallway to confront Snyder about it, Venables stopped him. "NOOOOOOO!" he recalls screaming at Mike. "You're screwing this up for me!"
