I dunno, i'd venture to say this isn't the first time its been discussed

http://www.iowastatedaily.com/news/article_3d22244c-d71d-11df-8913-001cc4c03286.html

The inaccuracy in that article lies in the fact that there is the Skunk River (lets all pause for 2 seconds to laugh at the name) and Squaw Creek (which flooded Hilton and Jack Trice). The reservoir built north of Ames would have been built on the Skunk River, not Squaw Creek. Damming of the Missouri River in the Dakotas caused massive flooding in Iowa and Missouri because water was not released early enough.

The final line of the article:

However, he admits this is a "pure guess."

Nuff said.

Can we laugh at Squaw Creek too, I mean, jfc...

they banned me.   and I didn't even see the responses before they deleted my post.

This happens on lame sites.

I don't come around these parts for no particular reason... sheesh. Have you seen posters on CF??? "LHC Bill Snyder is old" jokes got old the 2nd time they said it... let alone the 34th.

Have you met many fellow 'clone fans that you didn't secretly hate?  You're way better than all of them imho.

Maybe you could start a sister rebel board and see if anyone shows up  :dunno:

The Skunk flooded Hilton.  ISU fans took a month to realize that sounded hilarious to all non-mold aggies and changed it to Squaw(still funny but kinda racist)

But apparently they are deathly afraid of dams.

I had no idea it was actually named the Skunk River.  Thought it was something goEMAW made up to amuse itself.  You know these things can be almost organic and evolutionary.

Every time I have to travel to the west coast, I spend the whole time counting down the hours until I get to leave the west coast.

WhereTF are you going on the "west coast"?  Apparently you're doing it wrong.

San Fran is garbage. Seattle is meh. San Diego is ok.

Everything Kougar24 just said. Also, L.A. makes me want to punch a hooker. I really can't stand that place.

Attended the USC vs. K-State game there in 2001. (Was supposed to fly back on Sept. 11 -- that didn't work out.) Anyway, worst most pathetic fans in the history of college sports. Also that was an Olympic stadium? Woof.

But mostly what grosses me out about L.A. is the plastic, horribleness of it all. Just awful.

Here is an update on my weekend travels to the land of the fatties (Ioway) this past weekend from the ole Blumpster.

A) Everyone in Iowa is indeed fat.  I saw more double-chins and fanny packs this past weekend then I have ever seen.

B) After my rendezvous with a craigslist heffer, I went to bacon fest to troll for some more husky wonders.  Needless to say my contact list grew exponentially as most of these chunklords were wooed by simply discussing bacon or fast food.

C) I watched the KSU game at a bar in this quaint village named "Des Moines".  Most there had never heard of Iowa State and 90% of people I talked to thought Kansas was in Canada.  Those rascals.

Iowa is truly a skidmark state where people's only salvation is to eat their sorrows away.

west coast (at least the southern west coast) is overrated.

ben, whatever happened to your friend that used to post on ksufans?  the juco student who was going to get a six figga job after grad.  i was thinking about him earlier today, and i'd like an update.

He graduated from UMKC.  Worked at Wachovia Securities for a while.  Now I think he's working for another company in KC.  He's got a girlfriend and seems pretty happy (despite the fact that he's probably not making six figgas).

Yeah.  I appreciate how dedicated he is to sexing the fat ladies up.  Also that he calls them chunk lords, which I'd never heard before.

ISU shot a lot of 3s.  Took the lead late in 2nd half after hitting a lot of 3s.  UT hit a 3 to force OT.  UT's top two fouled out in OT, but still able to win b/c ISU kept chucking 3s, not making enough of em.

Live by the 3, die by the 3.

Sadly, this is ISU's best team in a decade and they'll likely finish 5th in a down Conference.

You won't believe this, but CF patrons think the referees called a bad game to Texas's favor....even though UT's 2 best players fouled out in the OT.

Also, they are incredibly unlucky, this doesn't happen to any other team, Fred Hoiberg is an amazing coach, every time they play on the road some crappy player for the other teram "goes off" etc.

If anything, on offense last night ISU lived by the 3 and died by the 2.

More importantly they played terrible defense.

In most of their losses (besides Tech) the 3 PT shot has been the main reason they were in the game, but poor defense (especially on 2PT shots) and turning the ball over has caused them to lose a bunch.

I didn't watch the game last night but I think I can provide the recap you need.

-ISU had a lead, didn't play defense and got Cleveland Steamered by some last second shot.

-ISU fell behind in overtime, fought back enough to give ISU fans hope (much like the hope that a flood is finally receding) but got tea-bagged in the end.

-ISU fans blamed the officials and their coach gets a raise.

they did, and then UT had the ball again, and ISU didn't cover the inbounder Papapetrou and he nailed it.
