Ok guys, heading to Greenville SC this weekend.  Any good local brews I need to try or brands I need to be on the lookout for?  Planning on only drinking local stuff while there if I can.  Hopefully Lady BR's folks dont make me go to an Applebees or something where I can only get Miller Lite

winter seasonals rolling into town. hold onto your hats bros.

Samuel Smith's Winter Welcome Ale.  So so good.

WHAT WILL BE PICTURE BE THIS YEAR? SNOWMAN BUILDING? SKATING? SINGING CHRISTMAS SONGS AROUND THE TREE?

All good guesses but this years label will feature a shire horse stabled at the brewery, and I can't wait to see it.   :excited:

guys, confession.. I really don't like IPA's. Especially when the weather is cold, I just want a dark beer and to fall asleep.

whew I feel better.

Me neither.

"Hey, let's see how much hops we can put in this beer! It will be great."

Over and over and over.

I always go do beeradvocate and search by "places" when travelling to a new city. not a specific beer suggestion obviously but will get you places where good local beer is. make sure to look at how many reviews a place has before assuming it's awesome because of a 5 rating though.

Boully westside rye.

Thumbs down. Not my thing at all. This is what I imagine gluten free beer tastes like.

I always buy hard to find/expensive beers thinking I am going to "cellar" them, LOL. GONE IN 3 DAYS.
Where did you get that overnight bag?

man, lotta good ones out there. I like the stuff that's not overly spiced to the point it's sweet. some stuff like BRRRR, Omeegang's Adoration and Anchor's seasonal are usually too sweet for me but I'll drink them. Love Sammy Smith, Isolation is good, even enjoy Samual Adam's winter lager. kind of pissed that New Belgium did a white IPA for their winter this year. I like white IPAs fine but it's not my choice for a winter. Great Divide Hibernation is really good for a single beer type of evening. Drank 5 of them friday followed by a bunch of other stuff and it probably was a mistake. almost 9%. BOLD FLAVOR, THO.

i looked at a 24 variety pack of sam adams seasonals at costco today.  i was really close to pulling the trigger, but then i read the descriptions and they all had weird spices and crap in them.  they didn't sound good at all.  except the boston lager, which as far as i know is not a seasonal beer.  i would have prolly bought 24 boston lagers for the same price, but they didn't offer that.

bullet dodged, if it was their holiday pack it's pretty garbage-y this year :Yuck:
