Tried the Founders Wee Heavy tonight. Weird beer style.
Not a fan of Scotch Ales?

This was the first I had tried. I'll give it some time to grow on me

You need to. Scotch ales are a _FAN favorite. I just bought some Sam Adams Wee Heavy for Christmas Eve dinner.

Just wanted to throw out an update about No Coast Ales. we have decided to go with the west bottoms location, and will be moving in in February  :pbj:

estimated opening date is still Jan of '15. also, trying to figure out legality issues with tasting parties etc... if I have obtained the brewers license by oct (my goal) then anytime after that is pretty much anything goes as far as beer tastings.

I won't lie, it feels very odd to be talking about this for real, it's been in the works for about two years now.  :excited:

another shameless plug here: if you live in KC and are interested in making beer/learning more about the process check out The Brew Lab in Downtown OP. it's a very cool place and most of the guys there are very knowledgeable. www.brewlabkc.com

Can't wait to come try the KatPak Ale, KCFDcat.  If you ever need help getting rid of excess supply, I know some people.

Also, check PMs soon

With this cold weather I have been enjoying some stouts lately.  One of my favs is Left Hand Milk Stout Nitro.  What are your favorite Stouts that I need to try?

Old Rasputin is a staple. Plus it's dirt cheap in KC

Would you believe me if I told you that I used to find it dirt cheaper than that?  Maybe not.  That's why I asked.

Rasputin is 'bout $10/4 here, but well worth.  First sip or two are weird but then you fall in love with it.  GREAT beer.
