Sam Adams pisses me off,  they're already advertising their Alpine Spring.   It's like 20 degrees out, which clearly calls for a spring seasonal.

American adjunct lager is the correct term. It's really difficult to discern a difference between any of them in a blind taste test.
Where did you get that overnight bag?

It's not them. It's the distributors. Liquor stores are getting spring seasonals in last week and this week and we'll almost assuredly be out by the 2nd week of march.

No,  it's Sam Adams.   They insist on pushing out their season also earlier and earlier,  forcing the other breweries to follow suit.  For example,  New Belgium produced a fall seasonal that was closer to an ipa than an Octoberfest last year because they had to put something out but didn't want to produce a fall beer to be distributed in early August.

Distributors wouldn't be sending them out early if the breweries weren't sending them to the distributors early.  I'm fairly certain of that.

Let's get this back on track.

thoughts? the use of the malbec grapes is definitely interesting. i tried a batch when they were working on it where they used cab sauv. grapes. malbec is definitely a better choice, but it still has a hint of that barley wine taste. overall pretty good, but still doesn't match up to their mole, imo.

Wasting your money.  Cheap pilsner is cheap pilsner. I've had the worst of the absolute worst (boxer light) and I'd drink that whenever and wherever I was offered it.
I'm a big Boxer fan.

36 can cases!   :excited:

Weird.   Slightly OT here but does Texas still sell 20 can cases?   I always thought it was strange that Texas was so lenient with most liquor laws but very conservative with that.

I've done it successfully with Bud Lt, Coors Lt, and Miller Lt.  Key for me is to isolate Coors Lt first (more distinctive to me for whatever reason), then between the remaining two the Bud Lt tastes a bit "sweeter" to me.  Much harder for me to name just a single one if I don't have the others to compare it to.

Bud Light is definitely the sweetest. I've always thought that but thought it was stupid so never mentioned it. I think Miller Light is a little heavier than Coors Light. Coors Light is definitely the wateriest of the three.

Miller lt has a distinctly different taste to me,  Bud lt and Coors lt are fairly similar.   Probably because one is a pilsner and two are lagers...

I liked it. The use of grapes was an interesting idea.  I think the grapes did impart a bit of sweetness while thinning the body of the beer.  Other than that, the grape is pretty well hidden.  Standard stout characteristics in the nose and taste with hints of cocoa, coffee, vanilla, and a bit of oak.  Really a pretty good beer, but I will concede the mole was better.

Hah, just giving you grief.  It's good stuff.  Probably my favorite right now.  I like the cocoa mole lips of faith, too.
