West Virginia Craft Brewery Week started strong on Saturday. I don't remember half of the beers I drank...

Spent the night in Youngstown OH. Had to spend a couple hours at Vintage Estates. Columbus Dalton IPA, BB 471 Small Batch, and Dogfish Head 90 Minute. All three were delicious. VE is the only reason I like staying in Youngstown. Otherwise, I'd commute from Cleveland.

Flight at Chapman's Brewery. Kolsch, IPA, Hercules IPA, and American stout. Nice little brewery.

Found myself actually downtown this evening.   Googled Double Shift,  got halfway there and remembered to check their hours.  Closed today.

It's going to be forever before I get to try that rye.

It's becoming more and more common. Cans today are not the same as they were 20 years ago. I could pour most people a beer from a can, and the exact same beer from a bottle, and in a blind test I seriously doubt they'd know the difference.

But maybe you just  :Take the Bait: me... I'm not sure.

waks, bunter and myself completed our first partial grain brew last night, a sierra nevada pale ale clone, with some assistance from TownieCat. Winters even stopped by to say hi after everything was cleaned up. we'll be bottling our american wheat ale tonight.

It's cool, buddy. I just remember something about some upturned noses around here when it comes to porters, I missed the boat on that inside joke or whatever. So I just did a little CYA and called myself out haha.

The cans help it keep longer, btw. Bottles just aren't necessary for the most part anymore, which is why you see so many breweries offering cans more and more.

(At least that's what I am learning from all the ITK people I drink with, I'm just a sheep  :frown: )

Also, look what is finally being distributed to West By God....

So damn happy to finally get my hands on some OB, this stuff was everything I'd hoped it would be.

Then I had to bring it back home with this delicious bastard...  :drink:

They're also a lot lighter than glass, making them cheaper to ship.
