ok, tried 4 new beers today.  i'm gonna throw shiner in there and rank the beers on a scale from 1-10.  10 on my scale is the best beer i've ever had not best beer possible

10- Founders Breakfast Stout
8- Shiner
6- Lakewood Hop Trap
5- Dale's Pale Ale
4- Community Mosaic

so, somewhat successful day, found a beer i like better than Shiner and 3 i don't like as well
based on what i perceive of your palette here try some porters

will do!  i thought i would enjoy the ales more than the stouts based on my like of shiner but i'm finding that not to be the case at all.  do you have any porters that you would refer to me (used refer because i never know how to spell reccommend no matter how many times i look it up, it is that word to me)?

founder, fullers,  deschutes are good and usually available.  Even Bully! is a pretty good version and i liked Tallgrass' zombie monkey alot (fall beer only and stupid branding)

Just fyi a porter is an ale. Common misconception. Also, try deschuttes black butte. It's great. Also try to pick up some mother's three blind mice, my guess is this would be right in your wheelhouse.

Yeah 3 Blind Mice is another malty one in Supertramps wheelhouse.  Dont care for it much.

I just had a couple cans of Gutch, an ESB by Defiance Brewing in Hays, and thought it was great.  Would also be Supertramp friendly but I think Defiance only distributes to ICT for now.

Amen. Tried to order one outside of Manhattan the other day and the bartender was confused.  Even looked at me kinda nervous when putting it all together. Then condescendingly when finally handing me the drink.  Glad this is a part of local culture.

I tried a Sam Adams Porch Rocker the other day. Disclaimer: I loathe Sam Adams. But it was pretty good.  Better than Summer Shandy, not as good as homemade summer beers/nancy/etc.  Heavy as a brick though.
