Essentially Flyertalk / Y-L_A's 785 Summer Survival Guide and Tips
« on: May 23, 2011, 10:48:32 PM »
So as we all know summertime in Manhattan is probably what heaven is like. (Holy war)
Here are my tips to make your time in Manhattan as enjoyable as possible.

Have a Theme Song for your Summer and live and die by it
Rent a jet ski and Kenny rough ridin' Powers the fuckin crap out of Tuttle Creek Lake.
Go out to University Park and play a round, you can act like you “paid the green fees” but we both know better
Go to Daras and make yourself a slushy, heck make it a suicide but don’t let the cashier catch you because they’ll probably charge you extra
Go to every MHK event you can go to, Thunder Over Manhattan I’m there, Weenie Dog race you betcha, Arts in the Park more like where else would I be.
Take a UFM class, learn how to be a Top Chef  or how to use that sand wedge for when you go out to University Park
Join that softball team because we know it’s inevitable you will be or have been asked. Then get shitfaced and proceed to get thrown out of the game.
Play a pickup game of roundball at city park, the barn, or the rec.
I said every MHK event so that means you must attend the Country Stampede and you know what you’re going to have a hell of a time. You don’t even have to pay if you don’t want to there are ways to sneak into the campground which is easily the best part of the whole ordeal.
People watch, especially during the Stampede, camp out at Wal-Mart and take it all in.
Drive to the top of the world at night and bask in the glory that is the 785.
Hike the Konza
Bike the linear trail
Go to a yoga class or a crossfit class if you so dare
Check out Pillsbury crossing, then act like you didn’t like it even though you secretly did
Make a trip up to KC or somewhere because everyone goes through that “Oh I so need a break from Manhattan”(Maybe go to Legends or PNL or something theres not much to do in KC Sorry) or Go to Omaha for the CWS, lord knows they could use the economic stimulus that we would provide.
Go to the bars that you wouldn’t normally go to, have a summer beer each and every time you go out though and it has to be from RAB
Go to Wildcat Creek play some putt putt, play some volleyball, fish, grill, and feed the adorable geese.  This is better at night time
Eat at each and every restaurant you can, and be sure to go to the little grill
Play some Frolf
Go fishing out at Pott II
Try out the trap park or go to an indoor shooting range(have to travel to Junk Town , while there you might as well check out some nasty stretch marked whore at Mustangs
Check out city parks pool and you enjoy the crap out of it
Go bowling at Zuckeys then go check out the basement and try out some karaoke
Go to the old stadium and play some pigskin and if you’re lucky enough you might get there at the right time and you can ask to join in on a game of cricket
Trying camping a weekend out at Carnahan Creek
Have a Theme Party
Bon Fire and roast some mallows, yes I would like some more, some more of what
Take in a flick at Westloop or Hale when they do an outdoor movie or even at Seth Childs(indoors only sorry, bummer I know)
Go explore parts of 785, 66502 and 66503 that you have never been to or didn't know they existed
Try out the zoo, drink plenty of fluids though because that hill after the big cat and bear exhibit is a real doozy.
Check out the Farmers Market
Garage Sale, Don't Mind if I do look through all of your crap
Go to Cico Red or Pluto and have a home run derby
Don't forget to BBS with your friends @goEMAW
On a rainy day check out the Beach Museum
Go to the mall during the dog day sales and enjoy
Float trip Big Blue River
Make big plans that never come to fruition

Does anyone else care to add to this thread

I'll take the road less traveled approach.
I'm a big fan of the Van Zile courtyard area plus in the morning time you get the smells from the bakery and everything.

Was there anything hotter all night than Jakes fake pass behind the back followed by the lay in(to break the record)
which he had set up earlier by that hott behind the back pass to CK.

I mean we may have lost but we sure looked hot as balls doing it.

Jerome Tang Coaches Kansas State Basketball / Beardman
« on: March 20, 2011, 12:26:06 AM »
Beardman stands alone. Beardman did not become Beardman, Beardman was born Beardman. When Beardman wakes up in the morning, he is Beardman. His alter ego is Jacob Pullen. His outfit with the big purple K-State is the blanket he was wrapped in as a baby when the Pullens found him. Those are his clothes.

What Pullen wears, the hoodie the sweatpants, that's the costume.
That's the costume Beardman wears to blend in with us.
Jacob Pullen is how Beardman views us.
And what are the characteristics of Jacob Pullen?
He's weak, unsure of himself... he's a coward.
Jacob Pullen is Beardman's critique on the whole human race\

I wonder if that guy lives in a van down by the river

Jerome Tang Coaches Kansas State Basketball / Our Time?
« on: March 15, 2011, 11:49:02 AM »
Don't you realize? The next time you see sky, it'll be over another town. The next time you take a test, it'll be in some other school. Our parents, they want the best of stuff for us. But right now, they got to do what's right for them. Because it's their time. Their time! Up there! Down here, it's our time. It's our time down here! That's all over the second we ride up Troy's bucket.

Like to know what you did before cell phones before you rush off to the early bird special.
