Very good player. Great potential. Horrible passing ability at this point.

Ok. So it was actually a BW. Then I would say this WC thing was even later, because that was 06-07 I think. Crap probably didn't start until 2010 or 2011. I think that was the first time I noticed it being done in the stands like a tomahawk. Now people do it all the time, plus the tomahawk chanty thing.

3
Which ones are different things?

4
I think the first time I saw anything similar to it was Cartier Martin's senior year. I remember one time specifically, but he put it up to his eye and looked through it. At the time I asked a friend what the heck it was. He actually said it was a BW(the thumb and index of the "C" closed) for Bill Walker because it was after he had his season ending injury. I assume that was not the case, and it was the stupid WC thing. I had never in my life seen it done before at KSU. It has since became the foul gesture that it is today...I did find it odd how it started being used with the weird little chant thing and done like a tomahawk chop...I suppose there might be some legitimacy to that, but I never saw it in the 90s.

There's something about people thinking that looks like fellatio that wants me to ask an inappropriate clarification question. I guess what I'm saying is doesn't look like fellatio to me and I'm confused as to why people think it does.
http://en.paperblog.com/what-hand-gesture-are-these-kansas-state-cheerleaders-making-439840/

Not bad at first glance...Then the back and forth business starts up...typically a fast paced movement of the hand right in front of the face...the mouth...It's there, bro...

6
I hate it as well. It wouldn't be so bad if everyone just held it off to the side of their head...but it always seems to creep over to right in front of their face...Maybe we could just stop moving it back and forth? A nice stationary gesture...We get made fun of by every other school's fanbase for that one. Not that it really matters, but why are we the only ones that don't see the problem with it? I guess it is probably our innocent and pure approaches to life. Thanks to the great one. Everyone else is a bunch of immature perverts! #SnyderLife

LT - AJ Allen
LG - Whitehair
C - Riesner OR Bergstrom
RG - Stiverson
RT - Kleinsorge OR Bennett (Kleinsorge's struggles may get him bumped)
QB - Hubener
RB - Jones/Warmack (will split carries like this year)
FB - Gronk
TE - Valentine OR Small
WR - J. Jones
WR - Davis
WR - Burton

WDE - Bryant
DT - Britz
DT - Geary
SDE - Willis
LB - Derricott (He'll be back)
LB - Riddle
LB - Lee
S - Barnett
S - Prewett
CB - McDaniel
CB - Burns
CB - Starks
I would be extremely surprised if Bennett is in the mix for a starting role. I have not heard a single positive thing about him in his time here. OL and WR are so much a toss up at this point. Lots of guys in the mix. Unfortunately, I don't think that is a good thing in these cases.

OL could be any combination of Whitehair, Stiverson(Do not think broken bones will be a career ender, unless there was some nerve damage. Even if he doesn't come back 100%, he will be good enough to start as we have seen we had such poor depth this year),Hayes, Kleinsorge, Ash, Allen, and Bergstrom. I could see Risner being in the mix also. It's been said that Jeb Drost and Reid Najvar have impressed some as well. Lot of guys we could see and who knows at what positions.

I would say the only for sure we will see at WR is Cook, and then any of Davis, Burton, Klein(he will be back), Heath, West, and Jones. I assume he will redshirt, but with no one being proven at this point it could be possible to even see Zach Reuter in there.

I have heard decent things about Starks' potential, but I have a hard time not seeing Nate Jackson step in to one of the vacant positions, seeing as he was about the only backup to see significant playing time and at more than one position. Shows lack of trust in others and significant trust in him. I really hope Prewett can step up in year two. I will be very disappointed if we wasted his RS and he still doesn't play in year 2. Really want Derricott to get back on the team so we can have a mix of Moore, Derricott, Riddle, Lee, Davis, and Tanking. Decent depth and athleticism.

He'll be back, but I can't see him being anything more than a backup LB and maybe back to a role of 3rd down pass rush. Nice depth, though.

Just as a point of reference as we look at the top talent on Snyder's worst teams.  People really shouldn't dismiss how terrible our offensive talent is going to be next year.

This is what worries me. Many are thinking "Snyder will figure something out. He always does". That is usually true, but what about our RB situation this year? We lost Hubert and had not seen anyone show that they MIGHT be the guy to step up. Many thought it would surely work itself out. It didn't ever work itself out. Now we lose our WRs without anyone showing they could potentially step up. I hope I am wrong and that some guys make huge strides forward, but I am not holding my breath.

Snyder often gets someone to step up that you didn't expect, but not always. The problem here is that none of our WRs has shown anything on the field(except Cook) and at this point we have no JUCO players coming in that could surprise us and be ready to play. A WR unit where Kody Cook is your #1 stud is not a unit that strikes fear in to the hearts of DBs.

Worrying about a LHC LHC LHC Bill Snyder offense isn't healthy.
Well the offense was a problem this year.
Comparatively, the offense was better than the defense. As I said all season (and Mixed Nutz correctly pointed out), the offense did a pretty good job this year.

Offense: 6 YPP (30th Nationally; 5th in the Big XII); 1 Giveaway per game (10th nationally; 2nd in the Big XII); 0.49 points per play (16th nationally; 4th in the Big XII).

Defense did OK relative to the conference, but was pretty mediocre nationally:

Defense: 5.4 YPP (55th Nationally; 5th in the Bix XII); 1.7 Takeaways per game (56th nationally; 4th in the Big XII); 0.34 points per play (34th nationally; 4th in the Big XII).
When broken down, this is correct, but it doesn't really tell the true story. The reality is that both offense and defense were nothing amazing, but both were good. The offense aired it out great, but often had an inability to eat clock and struggled in short yardage situations. In several games the offense put the defense in bad situations, which doesn't help defensive stats. The defense at times did not help the offense, but it doesn't really affect it statistically.

Even saying that the offense was the absolute strength of this year's team, that does not mean anything good for next year. All the positives from the offense are graduating. The offensive stats were good due to Sexton, Lockett, and Waters. The O-Line was horrible this year. The RBs showed nothing this year. No other WR showed even the ability to run a route except Cook.

People always make improvements, but usually there is SOMETHING that gives us a little positive expectation. Losing Tramaine Thompson was disappointing, but Sexton had shown at least something that let us think he could step up. Judah Jones has really shown nothing since the spring game. Andre Davis has shown nothing at the D1 level to this point. Klein has been injured, but other than his name he truly hadn't shown much previously. Burton has shown nothing positive. West has shown very little, but he has been out there a little and has had his named mentioned at least. We know what we get in Charles Jones. I am not going to put my faith in to a small RS freshman in Warmack. I think he will contribute and be very good in the future, but I can't see him making a huge difference next year.

Well the run game can't be any worse, but I don't know how good it might be.

Well the offense was a problem this year. Completely one-dimensional with no run game. Cost us the Auburn game. Held BU and TCU below their season averages(still got brutalized), but the offense didn't come through. Removing the only thing this offense had--the passing game with Lockett, Waters, and Sexton--doesn't give me high hopes for them, but hopefully they surprise. We will need Hubener to channel Klein to give us a shot I think.

Not a single proven, legitimate playmaker on offense.

Worst wide receiving corps in 20+ years under Snyder.  Who is Bazooka Joe supposed to throw to?

Stroles 2.0 wasn't good enough to beat out two running backs this year that wouldn't start for 90% of the P5 teams in the country, but is supposed to be the savior next season.

The O-Line is still talent deficient and thin.

The defense is still coached by Tom Hayes.

Honestly, this team will be lucky to win 5-6 games.

I'm a Tom Hayes fan.  Just going to put that out there.

Worst (real) case scenario next year is 7-5.  If we think our talent and / or coaching sucks next year, look at some of the teams we're playing.
I feel like 7-5 is a very generous "worst case scenario". I see 5-7 being worst case, 7-5 realistic, 9-10 winning some games we shouldn't. Our defense should keep us from being terrible. The offense will likely keep us from being good(hope they surprise me).

My guess.
LT-Whitehair
LG-Stiverson
C-Risner
RG-Hayes
RT-Allen
TE-Valentine
QB-Huebener
FB-Gronk
TB-C. Jones
WR-J Jones   West
WR-Davis
WR-Klein     Cook

DE-Willis
DE-Bryant
Rush DE-Riddle
DT-Britz
DT-Geary    Clinkscales
LB-Moore    Riddle
LB-Davis
NB-Starks   Jackson
CB-McDaniel
CB-Burns
S-Barnett
S-Jackson    Prewett

One position change I would like to see is Prewitt to WR, but I think we need him for depth at Safety and may be the starter by end of camp.
Pretty reasonable. No way to tell at this point, but my guess is just a little different. I am hoping we can move Whitehair to LG. Allen to play LT. Stiverson over to RG. Hayes out to RT. Ash/Risner/etc. at center. I doubt that will be able to happen though. I hope to see Derricott back on the team and able to contribute as well.

Which, by the way, is why I hate all of the "we knew this would happen" posts. That's just bullshit.

If we're observing data, we should be reminded that one data point does make a trend.  Rather, in this instance, the 2nd place finish represents an anomaly when we look at all the data as a whole.  The trend is apparent.  Win at a consistent level with other players, lose (relatively speaking) at a consistent level with his own.

What about at SIU where he actually did better at the end of his tenure?
