Tech-nicality
« on: October 22, 2012, 07:48:18 PM »
So, halftime last year, KSU's sitting with 94 yards of total offense, though only down by 8 thanks to a pick 6 and baby lockett.  Tech ends ups with 580yds of total offense (KSU 339).  Tech's scoring defense ranked 117 last year (KSU's scoring offense ranked 34).  Tech turned it over 3 times and had 2 FG's blocked.

This year, KSU's scoring D is 14th, Tech's is 34th.  KSU and Tech are tied nationally for scoring offense @ 5.

Concerns?  Thoughts?  I am concerned because Tech seems patient enough on offense to dink and dunk down the field and we're more than willing to give them that and Tech's defense (even as crappy as they were last year) had some success early shutting down our run game.

If this season has taught me anything it's that last year's results are a great predictor of this year's.

They are definitely the best team left on the schedule IMO. Glad we get them at home. Our D is more improved than theirs.

Our o-line is far better this year....like way way way better. and if those losers try sitting back in zone coverage like they did against WVU, Collin's gonna penetrate them all game long.  :gocho:...and they also gave up 53 points against toadaggies. not worried

after last year's game tubbs basically called snyder a simple-minded Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) and his football team a bunch of JV'ers.

Here's an easy way to decide if our defense is better.  Last season we had Skippy Chris Cosh, this season we have Steak House Hayes.  Any questions.  :billdance:

We weren't nearly as polished last year. That was our second road game. Our defense was much worse against the pass. Tech is improved, but we're much more improved.

Tubberville doesn't make many adjustments after the season starts, let alone at half time. As the season wears on people figure out TT's scheme and start beating them. Snyder should have lots of TT game tape to dissect.

Tech does some nice things and has a solid defense. But I think turnovers and special teams could really hurt them in Manhattan. Unless the Cats suddenly decide to turn the ball over, I think we'll be fine.

Texas Tech sucks and the only team that they have played that is even close to our level kicked the crap out of them in their house. Not worried.

1 key turnover could be the difference in this game, imo.  i think they score at least 28 24 points.

edit: changed point prediction

another concern for me is that we've played worse at home the last 2 years than on the road.  it seems like every big 12 team we've played at home the last 2 years has scored a TD on their opening drive.

edit:  only baylor, ou, and ku have scored on their opening drives at BSFS

So as long as we don't score 20 points less than our average we should be fine, IYO?

Evidence Tubbs is a simple-minded respect. Also if we play the entire game like the 2nd half in Lubbock we are going to Ass Fart their faces off.
