at the clip guys are going down, we are going to be lucky to win 25% of the remaining games in May. They said on the broadcast that this wasn't the first time Pillar had gotten hit in the face...he got hit in the chin in 2018 and was back in the lineup the next day. I'm guessing in 2018 he didn't suffer multiple nasal fractures, so im sure he will be out for a while. I'm really just glad he was able to get up and walk off the field.

CC Sabathia going scorched earth on Scumbag Tony La Russa is candy to my ears.

If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

It's almost Vallejo specific...I play pickup with a guy who grew up in Vallejo and has the exact same accent.

deGrom coming back tomorrow means he is going to be, by a wide margin, the best hitter that is going to step into the batters box tomorrow wearing a Mets uniform

Purvis Pasco is going to send you the bill from his chiropractor because his crown is so heavy its causing him neck problems

But stepping outside the kstateosphere I would also say Jean Van de Velde's 72nd hole at the 99 British Open

Pervis Pasco's blunder wasn't close to the scale of this, his mistake lasted a fraction of a second. This is the the equivalency of Pervis doing it again if Colorado got a five second call after his first #1.

Van de Velde wasn't idiotic play, it was a choke job, a sudden loss of skill because he couldn't take the pressure.

Is there a rational explanation for why the first baseman didn’t stay on first to take that throw from third?

Same reason why the catcher tried to apply a tag to the baserunner instead of Baez. Same reason Baez celebrated with a safe signal instead of busting his ass back to first. Same reason neither the pitcher or 2nd baseman covered first. Either what ipa said or they're all exceptionally stupid.

The Nationals need to send Victor Robles back down to Triple AAA.... consistently making huge base running errors... like tonight trying to advance from first to second on a soft fly ball in right field.
As the Nationals are likely to waive the White flag on this season who will be the biggest buyers.

We’ll take Max, and since he just hurt himself he’ll fit in just fine

Max is day to day....but honestly I dont know if the Nats will "gamble" the fire sale. However, really doubtiful they'd trade him to a division rival more likely Cardinals, Padres, or an American League team.

We'll see how this season keeps going but Rizzo needs to figure it out because this is not the 2019 season where we had a wildcard chance the National League East is only getting one team in the playoffs.

Welpf that’s like 5 Mets pitchers to get injured in the last week. We could get away with having no offense when we had great starting pitching and a solid bullpen but we’re dead to rights unless they can either a) bring in a few good arms or b) figure out how to get degrom on the bump every 2 days instead of 5.
