What are the Oscars politics that has people up in arms? Sexual assault is bad? I didn't realize anti-rape was a partisan stance. Minorities and women should get roles in movies? Real controversial stuff. Shut up and act I guess.
Maybe it was the immigration/immigrants/Mexico and Latin America dunking on their fat faces at this Oscars with Guillermo del Toro x2, Coco x2, and the Chilean movie winning the best foreign film..
In general I agree with you, I only had like maybe 2-3 moments while watching this one where I thought "o man, some super lib hollywood elitism going on here." The last several Oscars I felt I have those moments more often. Also, I thought the way most people approached the anti-rape, and minorities and women was more empowering than divisive, Frances McDermond's very creepy laughing aside.
