Real question for the computer nerds here: I run a piece of technical software (acoustic measurements) on an old mini-pc that runs on Windows XP. The software/hardware manufacturer is not upgrading the software or hardware. It is where it is. As you know, XP is no longer supported.

Can I keep the mini-pc from trying to update automatically by disabling the Wifi and just operate in "1950's Windows XP" technology indefinitely?  Seems to be working so far.

Have I invented time travel?

It shouldn't find anything when it attempts to auto update.  It'll keep running like it's August 2001 with no updates to find.

I have a silver one and a black one. And a white one I don't use.

That's about it. Best buy charges like 25 bucks and I think most places are similar to that so I say just chuck it in the trash

Yeah,  you can craigslist it, or find a computer nerd that you know that will buy/take it from you to use for parts.

I have some 3.5" floppy disks but no floppy drives anymore.... :runaway:
Is there like a service that will transfer them for you? Or do library computers have floppy drives that I could go use?

You can probably buy an appropriate computer for $6 from the local goodwill

Your office should look into his inventory. See what he'd charge you to upgrade.
