TV industry will be the music industry soon. The funny thing is you can get the broadcast channels for free.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

can't believe you're not more up in arms about all of this.  being such an open platform type of guy, it has to make you sick that these content providers are being so controlling with their content.

Actually, I'm kind of on the fence. Networks are open with their stuff (See the Boxee Box), it's mainly how Google handled it.

On the other hand, it's their product. They can say how they want to distribute it. Consumers suffer when an industry is Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) like this. But if they don't embrace it, they will suffer just like the recording industry did.

    :flush:

I would love an embedded system. Windows 8 and their SOC and ARM support will probably facilitate that.

i just dl or stream through torrents and plugins. i did just learn of something called couch potato that will automatically dl a tv show or movie as it becomes available on various sources. you can even set parameters on the que ensuring specific quality (1080, 720, etc...) or type (avi, mkv, h.264, etc...). Thinking about giving it a try but I need to either clear some space or get another TB.

Plex will work with couch potato and automatically organize it and categorize everything. It also handles netflix, espn360, hulu and a bunch of others, so that is a plus.
