why do some people think that jon is a Targeryen
it's the Tower of Joy situation. We still haven't seen how this plays out, but the thought is that Ned is far too honorable of a man to have banged some ho during the war, and that, instead, when he reached the tower of joy and found his sister, Lyanna Stark, with a baby. That baby is theorized to be Lyanna and Rhaegar Targaryen's child. Lyanna asked Ned to take the child and treat him as his own to protect his nephew. Ned, being the super honorable man that he is, lied to everyone in order to keep his vow to his dying/dead sister. If true, Jon Snow is the song of fire and ice, the first union of the northern house of stark and the southern targaryen. Gets pretty intricate in terms of clues and depth, but that's basically it in a nutshell.
