guys. we are not making the wild card game. if by some miracle we made it, and played oakland, jon lester would no-hit us again.

it's over. this team cannot handle pressure. they're done.

Going on the road may be the best thing for them.

“If I was a cleanup hitter, then it would be a different situation,” Aoki said through his interpreter, Kosuke Inaji. “But the type of hitter I am, and what’s expected out of me, I’ve got to get the guy over. In the past, too, people have told me, in that situation I need to get the guy over no matter what.”

So he bunted on his own accord. He insisted later he was trying to fit his game within his team’s style. He also revealed a window into an offensive philosophy that vexes observers.

“You can probably tell, too, just watching us play,” Aoki said. “We’re always playing for one run. We’re playing for that run, as opposed to trying to get two or three.”

I am losing it. Aoki was just attempting to do what's expected of him by this brain dead organization. See, what's been beaten into these guys is to move runners, and pretend its 1967 and 1 run will beat the Tigers. Here's the thing: The players behind Aoki in the lineup strikeout all the time and the pitcher on the mound is a strikeout machine.

I don't think the Royals organization emphasizes bunting.  They do emphasize average over OBP and speed/defense.  There are things you can disagree with, but this is not an organization wide problem.  This is an Aoki and Ned problem.  Ned uses bunting more than the typical AL manager.  Nori Aoki is apparently a complete psychopath who can't be trusted to make baseball judgements either.  Is it true that the Japanese leagues emphasize bunting more?  That is how I read it.

The royals organization emphasizes anything that was in fashion in 1967. Everyday is throwback thursday.  And if Nori loves to bunt because that's the way he learned baseball, its Ned's job as the leader of the team to teach him that a bunt there is completely worthless.

I learned to tag up in rough ridin' t-ball. T-BALL. How on earth do you just run home and high five everyone in the dugout without tagging up?

In a slow pitch softball game this year, my team doubled up a guy who forgot to tag. I'm pretty sure he was drunk and all his teammates were super pissed at him. They were like "Hey Chet how can you be so stupid?" This was slow pitch softball. Salvador Perez gets paid money to play baseball. Real, honest, dollars. Somehow his slumping slow ass made it to third. LINE OUT! Hey Salvy wanna tag up? Eff that bro I'll just jog home and pretend its 1967 and they won't have video rough ridin' evidence that I didn't tag up.

The royals organization emphasizes anything that was in fashion in 1967. Everyday is throwback thursday.

The [KC Sports Board] Word.

Really enjoying CF3's Royals meltdown. Very cathartic. Also looking forward to booing Ned in person tomorrow. And for an opportune time to offer a disgusted "hey, these guys are losers!" heckle after the Royals are well on their way to losing (as we all know they will be).

Got big plans for my $400 worth of playoff tix and the return credit on my credit card bill once we're officially eliminated from making the playoffs.

Two centuries ago, con artists like Ned Yost would be tarred, feathered, and run out of town on a rail. What a lucky SOB.

Ned has a farm in Georgia. Playoffs or not, I hope to see him tending that farm next season, as far from KC as he can be.

I'm not surprised, the way Ned manages this team is very farmerish.

Hey, everyone who follows Kat kid on Instagram, go report his pictures wearing a Detroit shirt at the K as inappropriate for hate speech.
