With the trend of depending heavily on veteran portal players and the limited playing time for freshmen, I'm wondering if P6 coaches will start steering recruits to lesser programs with a suggestion they have a spot for them in a couple years? That way they can gain experience and maybe have a little NIL cash steered their way. I don't think a Wichita State would go for a farming deal, but maybe a UMKC or schools of that status. So basically, I'm talking about low mid-majors serving the old juco role.
I doubt coaches would farm a top-50 prospect, but we're in a time when a 5-star like Omaha Beliew has only played in 11 games. I'm thinking a raw top 100 to 120 guy could benefit from a lot of playing time on a well-coached lesser team.
