Getting ready to enjoy a delicious half cheese, half supreme from Pizza Hut. Dining in. Should be a treat.
The last time I ate in a pizza hut, when it wasn't lunch (and even that was a long time ago), was probably when I was in grade school, and I absolutely loved it. Where I lived, there were no restaurants near at all. A trip to Pizza Hut was a big deal. Pump a few quarters into Galaga/Mrs. Pac Man, drink half a pitcher of Dr. Pepper and burp like crazy, see if I can eat as many slices as my Dad....awesome times.
Basically that is the picture when we go. Nicname Jr. and I like to get pizza on Sunday's. For the longest time we'd always order out; Papa John's, Papa Murphy's, whatever. I usually avoided Pizza Hut because I think/ thought the quality had gone down. We went to visit my bros in Durango, Colo. and had some pretty good slices from some local pizza joints/ breweries. And my bro was like, "You know what I like? Sometimes a good ol' pan pizza from Pizza Hut really hits the spot. I like the crisp buttery crust."
Well, when last Sunday came around we decided on Pizza Hut, dine in, and ordered two Personal Pan Pizza's. It was pretty tasty, and also nostalgic. I also grew up in a tiny town and Pizza Hut was basically the only place in town.
Total GPC dad post, but whatever.
