The precedent that could be set here is pretty significant. As an actor you are responsible for a prop gun handed to you is wild. A lot of these doofs won't even know how to check to see if it's loaded with actual bullets.
Yeah, exactly this. The DA said she charged him because she talked to other actors and they supposedly always checked every time a weapon was in their hands or visually saw someone else check. There's no way that's true and I'm stunned that the DA was that gullible and actually went public with that reasoning. I'm also confused as to why she made it a point to talk about him being charged as a producer, because the set was not safe, but didn't charge the director as well.
Either way, it's an involuntary manslaughter charge, he won't spend a second in jail, and unless there's some other gross negligence that comes to light, the DA won't even ask for jail time.
