I mean we get two bullshit illegal man down field calls( big 12 has to at least try, I get it) and still made it happen.
-
I’ve never seen so many of those called in a game. But I do think our line probably just sucks at knowing rules.
-
Guys!

They were both on the tight end that caught the ball. Receiver issue.

Yep. the plays were well designed too.

Or did they not cover the TE because they weren’t eligible?

Maybe on the one to Wheeler, but the Briley Moore negated catch was an awesome play design. As soon as it was snapped I yelled BRILEY, and I'm sure whatever OU defensive coach was in the press box, probably yelled something else. Usually on a play like that the WR takes a subtle step back when the motion man gets set, then the snap comes. OU's linebackers had no damn idea what was happening.

It's going to be our 2020 version of the gronk pass

Also on the last one we received a 5 yd penalty and replayed the down.
But...
The officials started the game clock on the setting of the ball.
Is that a rule loophole?
(acknowledge it may be hard to capitalize upon and not sure if it can be declined)

If the clock was running before the ball was snapped, that is what's called a live ball foul because the catch kept the ball running. If it were an incomplete pass the clock would have remained stopped until the next snap. If it were a false start on the offense that's a dead ball foul and the clock would have stopped until the next snap.
I suppose you could look at it as a loophole, but you really don't want to be getting live ball penalties as an offense.

The clock was not running before the Wheeler play, it was after an OU timeout. Not sure Sky realized it was running after the penalty because we snapped it with 13 seconds on the play clock.

Haha we won! Good post.

If the clock was stopped before the play, it should have been stopped after.
