When I saw this during the game, I went crazy. But I don't think Smart connected, or Shane would have been wheeled off on a cart.

connected or not throwing a punch is supposed to be a tech and ejection I believe.

Jerome Tang Coaches Kansas State Basketball / Re: Does WVU fire Huggins?
« on: February 20, 2013, 11:21:29 AM »

First, I said he was loyal to our state and university, not yours.

Second, not sure if you're serious or not.  Our face plant of a season is centered around the fact that we lost an entire class to attrition.  Losing an entire recruiting class would hurt most programs.

oscar missed the postseason a few times because he lost entire classes to attrition.  But, he was fired.  You're saying that this won't happen to Huggs at WVU?  Also, his sobriety isn't an issue?

No, it won't happen to him.  We have our head coach until he retires or drops dead of a heart attack.

Short of raping the pope he will not be fired.  He would REALLY have to embarrass the university to get fired.  I don't think he will let that happen...he cares too much for the university and state.  I might be naive but that's what I think.

So lets say WVU has 5 straight years like they are having this year, a complete dumpster fire of a year where they finish 6th or 7th and only beat the teams behind them.  You are saying you still wouldn't fire him?

First I don't think your premise is sound.  I'm willing to place a wager with you if you like on this happening.  Second, no I don't think 5 bad years would get him fired.  If I had to come up with the worst case scenario for him, he would very quietly be asked if he still wanted to coach, or asked if he'd thought about retirement but that's as much pressure as they would put on him.

Would LHC Bill Snyder be fired if he had 5 bad seasons?

That is being fired.  And I think Snyder would have the same thing happen to him if he had that many bad years.  While not a public firing, it is still a firing.  You still lose your job.

Someone is getting Franked this year, we have 4 incoming recruits and only 3 seniors.  And yes I am using Franked because he perfected this trick.

So who does everyone think is getting the ax?  We can't afford to lose big guys so they are safe.  I think the most logical is Orris. That or Omari because he only has one year left.  Or maybe one of these guys is smart enough to get on academic scholarship?

Jeremy Jones has already been Bruced, get with the program or you can go fr@ck yourself  :gocho:

  I should have counted players.  I was wondering why nobody was talking about people getting Franked this year.   :embarrassed:

Pokes.  Then we win out and win the outright title and stake our claim to being the best university in this conference.

I think Bob probably looked at the crowd and thought "thank God I got out of this hell hole".

If someone rapes you and leaves you for dead and you don't die and end up leading a good life, you don't thank them for raping you and leaving you for dead when you see them.

This. He wanted Frank & Co. to follow him to Morgantown (including Greenawalt & all that)

LOL at all of the tucks that are going to give him a warm welcoming. Bob could've gave two sh1ts about us after he left

How dare a coach that leaves want his assistants to go with him  :shakesfist:

My take on Bob Huggins is I appreciate what he did for our program and know we wouldn't be where we are without him.  That said, I hope he loses a lot.

I doubt Walker would have returned and you know the rest of the recruiting class, especially Beasley, would've went elsewhere.

We would have been worse than the Wooldridge era that year. Huggins wanted to leave us out to dry...

shazbot! that fat alcoholic bastard

Walker had no choice but to return, but yes, we would've lost the rest of the recruits.  He offered his assistants jobs on his new staff which about every coach leaving a job would do.  If we hadn't flat out hired one of them, they would've left.  I don't think its a particular middle finger to K-State.  I think he thought his coaches did a good job and wanted them as a part of his new staff as opposed to being unemployed (or at least looking for a job).

That said, if you want to hate Bob, hate him.  It is a perfectly valid opinion to hate him.

I hated Bob for the first year or two after he left.  Basically I hated him until Martin proved that he would keep us going once Beasley left.  When Martin took us to the elite 8 I then forgave Huggy for leaving.  Mainly I was just worried we were going back to the days of neck braces and fake tanning.  No one wants those days again.

When the PA guy announces his name someone in the student section should hold up a sign that says "WHO'S HE?" and then the rest of the student section will year "WHO'S HE!?" really loud and stuff.

He won't know what hit him.

I like this the best so far.  I think this would be more insulting then booing him.

Who the hell would hire him.  He single handedly got Peyton hurt because of his shitty OL coaching ability.  Jacksonville is terrible.  What makes them think he will help anyone?  And yes I am putting peyton getting hurt on him and not years of football.

Kansas State Football / Re: Jackie Shipp

Jackie Shipp just got fired from OU, I would slaughter some innocent animals to hire him for recruiting/any coaching spot he wanted at KSU...

Why was he fired?

Everyday I hear the words "stale" and "OU Football" about 10 times in the 50 minutes I'm driving to and from work.  There are 3 players from the early 2000s who go on the radio in OKC alot and have connections in the program.  According to them the entire program has just plateaued out.  Some specifics include having recruiting contacts that were awesome 5-10 years ago, but those same contacts are not so great anymore and they haven't cultivated any more.  Bob finally needed to change things, so he fired 3 guys he didn't think were bringing in the talent they needed nor still had the ability to motivate the players like they needed to be.

Remember when Bob said 2 years ago after their bowl game they were going to cut the dead weight and team cancers dragging the program down.  At the same time he supposedly told the coaches that from then on out they were responsible for making sure no more of these cancers developed within their groups or they'd be next.  Shipp, Kittle, and Patton were next.

He probably just needs some new scenery and a fresh start and he would be back to his old ways of kicking ass.  Bring him in  :bill:

This should be right next to the boat house.  They have all kinds of stuff out there already.  They could live out there.

What are the odds beems and seff have banged the same chick?

Not likely and it isn't because self hasn't been banging every chick he talks to.  :peek:

Wrong.  110% chance it has happened.

So your saying Beems has a lady friend?   :tsc:  I just figured since he was a KU fan, well you know.  :opcat:

Gip will be fine. Withey is just a terrible match-up for him, and no one else in the Big 12 has a player like Withey.

Anyone over 6'8 is a terrible matchup for him.  Our post play will hurt us in the tourny.

UPDATE-

Watched the game with my KU law school buddy. I mentioned the rumors to him last week and he finally got some confirmation from "A big time booster"

1. This isnt a new thing
2. The Self's were on the verge of getting the big D last year but decided to make it work.
3. crap hit the fan in November
4. Self moved out and MAY have a mistress
5. Big D is coming, will no be cheap.

One of my buddies wives was in Lawrence this year.  She said he invited her and her friends (all females) back to his place.  I also have heard from people who haven't been on campus since 06 that these rumors were going around then.  Nothing new to see here.

When will we get some bigs that are serviceable?  2 points for JO, Gip, Diaz and Johnson.  2 rough ridin' points!!!!!!  As far as catching a ball I just don't get it.  How can you get to D1 and not know how to catch a ball.  Heck they won't let you play 7th grade ball if you can't catch it.  unbelievable.  :curse: :bang: :chainsaw:

He just looks like an bad person.

wearing red and blue does that to you.

Nope. As I sit in my corner office   :kstategrad: and contemplate winning the Big 12 in football and basketball, I'm just glad my school is respectable in 2 sports so I don't have to remember which team I'm cheering for depending on the season.

I know some like that too but I would rather have the win.  I'm sure if they do  :goodbyecruelworld: that McDonald's will be able to replace them in good time.   :emawkid:

gronk will take her to pound town

I'm pretty sure she's already met Gronk's town, and was pounded by said town..

yeah you don't get to wear the jersey unless you have been to pound town with said jerseys owner.

"I mean, its Kevin Young!"

Is he back next year?  Would be great student section chant.

No. All the starters besides McLemore are seniors.

Yea Self better take off to the NBA while he can

I thought he had already told OSU he was coming, just had to delay it a couple years.  Seems like that was a couple years ago.  Imagine what he could do with all the recruiting tools he will have at OSU!!  He will dominate.
