Quiktrips merch is actually fire tho. https://quiktripshop.com/Also, prepare for an ungodly number of Buc-ees billboards everywhere. Holy crap do they love billboards. They seem to have a decent ad agency, though. Some are pretty cheeky. The number of people that wear branded merchandise from a rough ridin' gas station is a testament to their marketing.

It's been over a month since drinking booze of any kind and to be honest it is pretty awesome. Changed up my diet as well and have dropped almost 30 lbs already. Not saying I'm never going to have a drink again, but at this point I don't see why I would. It is amazing to me how much more clear my head is on a daily basis not having to clear the fog from the night before.Yeah I basically don’t drink unless I am on vacation now and no regrets other than how insanely hungover I get when I do go hard.
No doubt. And I'm not saying they need to. I'm saying citing the difference between Boomers' first home prices vs. millenials'/z's first home prices is apples and oranges when you consider the respective differences in location preference/requirements.There are plenty of cheap houses in a lot of the flyover town that really thrived decades ago. Fewer houses in the big metro areas.my understanding from folks that grew up in Norton size towns in western KS is that only old & small houses are cheap and that the newer & larger homes are quite expensive as thre is a limited number of them and most come with a sizeable piece of property
Small town America kind of dying is an impact on the current housing situation that I don't see discussed very often. A lot of our boomer parents that got these low cost homes lived in places like Norton, Kansas. You too could buy a low cost home in Norton, Kansas!
the other thing to consider is nobody wants to live in Norton, KS
There's a higher proportion of the population now that demands/requires to live in the same place(s).
Hold on, who was suing who in Bush v Gore? Doesn’t the plaintiff get listed first?Imagine a world where you try to overturn a democratic election and, failing that, organize a crappy coup to "fight like hell" as a last resort to hold onto power ...Imagine a world where #blueanon forgets they sent in squadrons of lawyers to overturn a presidential election. Years later then engage in election outcome: Denialism, delegitimization and ascribe to every insane conspiracy theory imaginable in order to undermine a presidency, with seeds planted by the election outcome denialism and the claim of an illegitimate presidency.

The Federal Reserve 2023 - $114.3 Billion in the RED
It's largest ever annual operating loss.
But it's still likely a bad idea, because it's the The Fed that (for example) calls out the absolute of the current administrations jobs numbers and the gaslighting they're doing on that.
I also believe it's The Fed (but not 100% certain) that outlines how this enconomy and it's current GDP growth (as anemic as it currently is) is being "driven" by Federal Spending. Edit - All time record Federal spending
Your chart was adjusted for household size. So the declining birthrate is important because children are part of the household, but they mostly don’t contribute any income. So declining birthrates are pretty relevant not only to the source, but also because a declining workforce will also impact the quality of life for the younger generations if productivity increases don’t keep accelerating.saying housing "costs" are not much higher than a generation ago is ignoring the fact that housing is also an asset that is much more valuable than a generation ago.
wut? genuinely no idea what you are saying here.
not sure why you twisted into children either. i didn't read it, but afaik, the economist article was not an attempt at understanding declining birth rates.
i think it just shows that younger cohorts in the us have higher incomes at the same stage in life than did older cohorts, and that gen z does not diverge from that trend. there could be some compositional effects that are distorting the data as presented, but it's not immediately clear to me that there would be.
it's true that the cost of housing has outpaced inflation more generally, but gen z is still spending less on housing than did older cohorts. americans are still getting richer.

kk, what is your response to this chart?
QuoteCoal Exports by Country
Below are the 15 countries that exported the highest dollar value worth of coal during 2022.
Australia: US$83.3 billion (35% of total coal exports)
Indonesia: $46.7 billion (19.6%)
Russia: $42.8 billion (18%)
United States: $17.3 billion (7.3%)
South Africa: $13 billion (5.5%)
Canada: $10.8 billion (4.5%)
Mongolia: $6.5 billion (2.7%)
Netherlands: $2.2 billion (0.9%)
Mozambique: $2 billion (0.9%)
Poland: $1.6 billion (0.7%)
Colombia: $1.3 billion (0.6%)
China: $1.2 billion (0.5%)
Kazakhstan: $946.5 million (0.4%)
Philippines: $883.1 million (0.4%)
Belgium: $763.6 million (0.3%)QuoteAs the second-largest exporting hub for coal in the United States, accounting for nearly one-third (28 percent) of total exports in 2023, the Port of Baltimore has helped meet that demand.
so at absolute worst 2% of global supply slack has to be picked up by the global market (including the US) and most of what we export doesn't go to Europe anyway.
I guess, I feel like we may have bigger things to worry about.
I didn't post more from that article because #blueanongE gets extremely triggered and ragey when I do that . . . but always glad to see that you've avoided the "been on the rise" component of international exports of U.S. coal. While also avoiding nearly a third of all U.S. coal exports departing from that port, and avoiding the impact on domestic coal supply (and I know you guys hate hate hate coal and the power it provides) while also avoiding the impact on special coal needed to power our dwindling domestically controlled steel mills.

Really? I guess I am a bit of an accelerationist on arms control but I don’t think I’ve talked about it.I can acknowledge that the F35 seems to be much more successful than was thought by many.
that's all i ever wanted.
on arms control, it's ironic, at least to me, that the policies favored by isolationists (you and dax) provide an enormous incentive for countries around the world to reengage with nuclear weapons development.
