AG Barr is investigating the origins and the processes of the FBI et. al investigation into Trump.

How is anyone really surprised that Durham's case (so far just in case) has found nothing to suggest it was a set up by the Intelligence Agency/Obama. First thing is first...the Obama Administration was so risk adverse if you even looked wrong you were fired (he was also a horrible micro manager and had his hand in everything). Secondly, I mean come on the conspiracy theory behind it is just crazy....Yes Hillary worked with the Russians (I guess now Ukraine too now?) in the tin foil hat world to hack the DNC, spread the emails every which way they could and release on days where Trump had bad news (Grab her by the pussy day), micro target voters to disencourage voting, spread rumors she was on her deathbed, and then while she had that extra moment spread she killed Seth Rich. But .....just but she decided to cover her tracks and set up a fake operation to trap Trump and frame him with all this.

You'd have a leg to stand on if the original defense of their actions was that it was simple opposition research. Early on, Fusion asserted that their hiring was purely for political/campaign advisory purposes. Now, at the 11th hour, they're trying to change the narrative. To carry on with Fusion, they have already shared a copious amount of information that they labeled as "political campaign opposition research" with the Federal Government.

The DOJ "forgot" to seal some documents for a short period in a recent filing in this case.
Sussmann claimed to the FBI that he was approaching them with the Trump information because he was just a John Q. Public concerned citizen. Alfa Bank filed a lawsuit against Fusion GPS in which part of the evidence was a trove of emails detailing how Fusion GPS was funneling/peddling the Trump narrative to the media. That suit never went to trial.
That trove of emails are now part of the Bulls pool of evidence. It further expands on the outright lie that Sussmann foisted on the FBI and more importantly, Clinton allies in the FBI, that he was there on his own volition as a good and proper citizen of these United States. And it locks in how the process was a consorted effort to undermine Trump.

Michael Sussmann, one of the top lawyers for the Democratic Party and Hillary Clinton's 2016 campaign, was acquitted yesterday, on a charge of lying to the FBI. Sussmann had given the FBI's top lawyer, a stack of fabricated anti-Trump evidence (email data purporting to show that Trump had a secret email backchannel to the Kremlin, lol).
Anyway, just after he was acquitted, it was revealed that, back in 2012, Sussmann had set up an FBI outpost (a "secure workspace") INSIDE his law office.
Why would the FBI have an outpost at the office of an election lawyer?
It gave Sussmann (and thus his clients) access to the FBI/NSA database. As the Snowden leak showed, that database collects literally everyone's emails, phone calls, texts, GPS pings, FaceTime chats, web browsing histories, etc. All of it. All searchable.
It allows a user to run a warrantless database query (called a 702) on US citizens.
The weird FBI outpost at Sussmann's law firm was started in 2012. That's the same year that, as Admiral Rogers later discovered and reported to the FISA court, unnamed "FBI contractors" started running huge numbers of unauthorized 702 queries, electronically spying on US citizens. Upwards of 85% of these 702 queries were illegal invasions of privacy.
I strongly suspect that the "FBI contractors" who were abusing the FBI/NSA surveillance database were Sussmann his tech friend Rodney Joffe, and law partner Marc Elias. All dual-Israeli citizens like Epstein and Maxwell.
After all, Sussmann had his own personal FBI outpost, an FBI building access badge, and the FBI's top lawyer on speed dial. It's not a stretch to imagine that he also had access to run 702s.
Imagine the political espionage and blackmail capabilities that the Democratic Party has had since 2012. Not just on Trump and other politicians, but media figures.

Setting up secure spaces in legal offices when it comes to national security matters is not that unusual. When Jonathan Turley filed a lawsuit on behalf of workers exposed to toxic chemicals from open burn pits at Area 51 several decades ago. He had to set up a secure space in his office and all the matters of the case could only be discussed inside that secure space. So there's nothing conspiratorial about those kinds of things.
As far as the rest there's even more revelations about DOJ/FBI spying on American's coming out just in the last couple of weeks, so that's no surprise.
What's always fascinating is, watching this stuff, and seeing all of those proxies, agents, NGO's et. al. that are involved with our government so our government can circumvent their own laws. Good for Sussmann that a jury acquitted him, but the fact that he tried to present himself as just a concerned citizen when it came to Trump is nonsense. It was insiders using their connections to plant a false story. What's even more hilarious (or sad) is that in 2008 it was from inside Hillary's campaign office that the birther moment came to reality. I know #blueanon works very hard to say that's not the case, but the internal memo written by one of Hillary's staffers relative to his upbringing, lineage and his loyalties was a warehouse full of dog whistles. It just didn't say it straight out. Again, I know #blueanon has worked triple time to deflect that reality.

Possible FBI Reform:
One possible way to provide additional scrutiny of politically sensitive investigations would be to identify, in advance, an official who is responsible for challenging the steps taken in the investigation. Stewart Baker proposes having a career position for a nonpartisan FBI agent or lawyer to challenge the FISA application and every other stage of the investigation. This would be done in investigations that pose partisan risk. In Baker's view the Attorney General, through the Supplemental Reforms Memorandum has already taken a good step in this direction by requiring that politically sensitive surveillance and search applications be reviewed by a special agent from a field office not involved in the investigation. Similarly, Adam Klein said that DOJ and FBI leaders should consider whether a regularized practice of internal red teaming in the most sensitive cases, whether within the FBI or in collaboration with attorneys at the National Security Division, could serve as an effective check on confirmation bias without unduly delaying time-sensitive applications. As a way to ensure full consideration of the issues in applications that may present very difficult -and vitally important -issues, we recommend that the Department seriously consider Bakers proposal for an official to challenge both a politically sensitive FISA application and other stages oft he investigation. It is the Office's assessment that the FBI discounted or willfully ignored material information that did not support the narrative of a collusive relationship between Trump and Russia. Similarly, the FBI Inspection Division Report says that the investigators “repeatedly ignore[d] or explain[ed] away evidence contrary to the theory the Trump campaign... had conspired with Russia... It appeared... there was a pattern of assuming nefarious intent.” An objective and honest assessment of these strands of information should have caused the FBI to question not only the predication for Crossfire Hurricane, but also to reflect on whether the FBI was being manipulated for political or other purposes. Unfortunately, it did not.

Goodness. The Bull’s report outlines how multiple investigations into the Clinton campaign (illegal foreign contributions) and the Clinton Foundation got slow rolled, purposefully restricted by internal entities and ultimately shut down by the FBI - Washington.
The FBI held regular briefings with the Clinton campaign as well as meeting multiple entities from the Clinton campaign who passed along false information about the Trump campaign that was the foundation for obtaining FISA warrants. (and continuing to renew those warrants even though some of the agents involved knew there was nothing there, as they withheld information from the FISA court).
Multiple entities within the FBI refused to cooperate with Durham’s investigation.
