I like Jevon more than I should because he takes shots and attacks the rim. It doesn't bother me that much that he's not effective at it, because it feels like he should be effective at it. I can fully acknowledge that he isn't very good at basketball, but I really want to see him get better and feel like he can.
Yeah, this is what I'm getting at. He seems like he's almost there to a lot of people even though he sucks at getting to the rim and shooting (and does both very rarely).

I don't think he sucks a getting to the rim. I actually think he excels at it, he has the skill set for it in spades.

Yeah, well, you're wrong

if you took a bunch of random basketball terms and phrases heard on ESPN, middle school coaching clinics, and sports talk radio; and then had a robot spit them out into random sentences it would essentially be Mixed Nuts.

Guards have to be able to shoot to be good at basketball. This isn't the '50s. Jevon can't shoot, so he sucks. It's pretty goddam simple. Some idiot will cite Rondo and he'll be wrong. Rondo can shoot, just not from outside the arc. Jevon can't even hit wide open layups. It's no wonder he forces a bunch of stupid passes, when the other team only has to guard four players it makes open shots hard to come by. He needs to get better at shooting or find a spot on the bench (or another roster).

It's like having Energy on the court again, except Energy didn't cause horrific turnovers multiple times per game.

I don't think he sucks a getting to the rim. I actually think he excels at it, he has the skill set for it in spades. He needs to be more aggressive. Also with the lack of shooters on the team driving lanes aren't always open. I think the staff has to be careful with asking him to do to much. I think his head gets under water at times.
He doesn't have an issue getting into the lane.  The problems start once he gets in there.  I might be able to count the times he has finished a layup with any resemblance of contact in two years on one hand.  He bad

Jevon is terrible and the only proof you need is 11-8.  With a solid PG, we are 15-4 and a NCAA lock.  With Jevon, we're an NIT bubble team.

I think this is pretty accurate. I guess oscar thought he could just teach Jevon how to make a wide open set shot in the offseason and that would fix his issues. Bc that's the only way in which he's improved, though it makes no difference since he's too terrified to try most games.
