The real answer is Jason Whitlock for the 05-06 edition of Woolyball

Let's just bring back J Mart and have him setup his own site and then we give him money and read his stuff about the KSU cats.  Deal?

With all the money people save not paying for gE, that wouldn't be a bad way to spend whatever such an amazing service would cost.

Prior to my K-state student days, Collegian writers used to do trash talk articles on the opposing team that I really enjoyed.  I don't know if they were actually good articles of if I was just young enough not to know better.

_FAN is the best around these days.

I wish my best friend in the world Kellis was better.

Loved when LHOFHCBS called Smellis a yokel.

10. mark jannsen - don't know if i spelled his name correctly, and frankly don't care. he was respected by almost nobody, he was rude and dismissive and needy, had a crusty personality and writing style, and often lifted quotes from others without attribution. his LHC Bill Snyder book was one of the most poorly formatted books i've ever read.

Interesting that you mention this.

I've heard the exact same thing. From his own family members.

I'm planning to use all the money gE makes on the tiny ad we have to save up and buy myself a subscription in my make believe eutopia brain.

To me, it says a lot about anyone who was once with a Rivals website and ends up exiled to some Rivals adjace site.

Order of operations for being a stud KSU reporter:

-Rivals - we've had our difference but is and always will be the premier spot for KSU information. no matter who is reporting there the network and resources are unmatched. Literally anyone could take a job there and be respected by me. Don't forget the link! https://kansasstate.rivals.com.

-MHK Mercury - The local (what I call it). Tried and true stud journalist developer thing.

-Wichita Eagle - Former stud factory. Now kind pud factory'ish. Probably ranking it too high based on prior stud factory status.

-Collegian (good sports editor). Pretty good when they have the right dude or dudette in place.

-KC Star/CJ - The fact that the star is now on equal footing with the CJ says more about the star than the CJ

-1350 KMAN - Sometimes I like to hear my KSU scoops instead of read them

-Collegian (bad sports editor) - pretty garbagey when they don't

-Scout - Does scout still have a place?

-Hutchinson/Salina/Dodge City/Etc. papers - May have some stuff that you can read? not sure here

-247/bleacher report/non-sports forums where people sometimes talk about sports - all complete crap that I would never go to and you shouldn't either

sd, it takes a lot of maturity to publicly acknowledge Rivals as the top of the KSU media food chain, despite our past differences with their existing staff.  Congrats to you on being the bigger man in that beef, which is saying a lot in this scenario.

I'm looking forward to seeing what Rivals has lined up for us true K-Staters in the future!

Rivals is the premier network of college sports sites in America, and it's not even close.  They INVENTED recruiting coverage.  For example, Brian Gates used to go on and on about how great the national Rivals coverage was in assisting with KSU coverage.

Every single person on the face of the Earth knows Rivals is the best.

I will always have my Rivals subscription.  I won't pay for anything else, that's for sure.

K-State grad Rob Cassidy (very important to me too) is a truly great part of Rivals that won't be changing anytime soon, and neither will my subscription to Rivals.

BUT, did you know that K-State grad Matt Hall (so important to me that he is a k-state guy) had also been a long time Rivals national guy?  Once again, Rivals shows it's stuff.  Maybe we will get to read K-Sate Grad (love that) Matt Hall write about his alma mater again someday?  Who knows?  Until then, it's nice to know my Rivals subscription gets me access to guys like that!
