The New Joe Montgomery Birther Pit / LOL BIDEN
« on: January 20, 2021, 09:10:37 AM »
Probably won't have as much activity as the LOL TRUMP thread but hey you never know!

Biden is having the New Radicals perform “Get What You Give” at the inauguration.

Pretty cool huh?  Like right out of a Tom Clancy novel or something!

I have mixed feelings about this.  One one hand I'm not thrilled about the idea of our government being run by a handful of unelected officials and military leaders.  Bottom line, when our President gives a lawful order it should be followed and not ignored or undermined according to their whims.  I don't view these people as patriots or heroes or whatever.  On the other hand, Trump is an enormous dumbass and not doing every stupid thing he wants is probably a net positive.  Thoughts?

Essentially Flyertalk / October
« on: October 05, 2015, 12:32:37 PM »
It's pretty much the best month of the year!  It's a nice break after the heat of the summer.  Not too cool, not too hot.  It's juuuuust right.  It's the time when you get to bust out your favorite hoodie for the first time of the Fall, which I did Saturday morning.  But you know what?  It warmed up a little in the afternoon so I didn't even need it for very long.

College football cranks up a notch with the start of conference games. Royals playoff games!   Leaves change color
Halloween - a slightly above average holiday for me personally but I like to see other people really get into it.

What other reasons can we pile on for October being superior to other pud months?

Essentially Flyertalk / Friday Film Forum: Body Swap Movies
« on: August 07, 2015, 10:53:28 AM »
I know, I know, some of you pretentious Body Swap Movie purists think Big or 13 Going On 30 don't qualify since they don't swap bodies with another person, but that's just nonsense and I'm allowing these for consideration since they go from junior high body to adult body.  Face/Off has been left off the ballot initially but if someone wants to make the case I'm willing to listen.

"Hey brother, how's vegas?"

I was thinking of my standard "Dude I'm on my way to jail and my battery is almost dead" response. Any other suggestions for messing with this person?

Has anyone ever attempted this or more importantly been successful at it?  I was stopped last week a couple of blocks from work for an "improper left turn", or in other words not turning into the lane closest to the center of the street.  This was in Topeka going from the I470 off ramp East onto Huntoon.  The cop asked if there was a reason why I had "swung out so wide" to make the turn and I was like Umm, what?  Where?  So I explained to him I got in the right lane because that's the lane I needed to be in order to get to my office.  This is an absolutely pud and meaningless thing to be given a ticket for.  Maybe he was mad at the world for having to ride a motorcycle on a freezing cold morning or something.

Furthermore this is simply a cash grab.  The very next day I was sitting at the same light and I looked over and saw the same motorcycle cop had pulled a car over in the same spot, presumably for the same reason.  Also during the course of my recent bitching about this a coworker said his neighbor got a ticket for the same thing.  Hey motorcycle cop guy instead of generating revenue how about if you try and be on the lookout for some actual crime, or better yet try and get some leads on that quadruple murder from last year.

So, tomorrow I will be attending a Lean 6 Sigma training session at work.  Anyone else on here versed in the world of 6 Sigma?  I believe blackbelt is the preferred terminology for this and there are other belt colors too but not 100% sure.  Is it actually useful/helpful?  Can I impress the ladies and write my own paycheck going forward?

Thanks in advance

T's and P's little bro

http://www2.ljworld.com/news/2014/apr/29/latest-federal-numbers-show-low-incomes-high-price/

The latest figures from the federal Bureau of Economic Analysis show Lawrence residents are feeling the pinch in two areas. The city's cost of living, although lower than the national average, is higher than in any other metro area in Kansas. To make Lawrence's predicament worse, residents also earn far less than those in other Kansas communities.

How big is the difference, you ask? Well, take Manhattan for example. The college community just west of us on Interstate 70 has a cost of living that is about 3.6 percent cheaper than Lawrence's. The per capita, inflation-adjusted income for a Manhattan resident, though, is about $7,700 more than what Lawrence residents earn.

Kansas State Football / UTSA
« on: October 11, 2013, 01:10:38 PM »
Apparently stands for University of Texas Scaredy Asses

Last week, UT-San Antonio formally notified us that it intended to cancel the game scheduled in Manhattan on September 27, 2014. Although the contract will require UTSA to pay a cancellation fee of $500,000 (which will be offset if we elect to cancel the return game to UTSA in 2015), the more significant issue, given this late date, is the scarcity of available opponents for our third non-conference game in 2014.

I finally caught his new show on The Deuce last night, was okay. Had John McEnroe as a guest.  He is still doing his Worst Persons in the World bit from MSNBC but of course it's now called Worst Persons in Sports.  Not sure how long this will last given his history of being an bad person to management but I'll give it a chance.

Too bad because according to Forbes we're going to look like it in about 100000 years.  No word on flying cars though.

Since the world is ending tomorrow, I've been looking for some flicks that really capture the mood and might help ease me into accepting our fate.  Last night I started off with The Day After - on 2 VHS tapes!!  Tonight after work (why am I still showing up for work, LOL!!) I have I Am Legend, The Road , and 12 Monkeys ready to go.  Still trying to get my hands on The Omega Man.  Anybody else have some good suggestions?

If politics is show business for ugly people then tonight is like an Academy Awards ceremony hosted by Jim Lehrer     Getting pumped/Pak'd already!

Can Romney connect with voters and try to explain his "47%" remarks?

Can Obama make it through the evening without a teleprompter?

Will either candidate break out some specific details on how to improve the economy or reduce the deficit?

Can I keep asking rhetorical questions?  Tune in to find out!

Appears to be some sort of Bear/robot hybrid thingy.  And the Bearbot also looks to be constipated or something.  Pathetic.  Are there any Missouri State fans online actually able to defend this logo?  Emo BEAR?? Anyone???

Kansas State Football / Post pics of your new KSU Cats gear for 2012
« on: August 29, 2012, 11:18:16 AM »
Bought this last night, it was my first new hat in about 15 years or so

No new t shirts yet but I finally got around to a new hoodie.  Yes, it's a zip-up hoodie so you non-zip hoodie purists can suck it.  The zipper is concealed better on the one I bought compared to the pic

I am bringing a new lady friend to the game Saturday (back the eff off Fanning) and thought about getting her this, but it seemed a little perverted and hopefully she won't be wearing panties anyway....

So I got her this instead.  She's actually a KU fan and obviously doesn't have any KSU gear
