it's not a troll.  two schools in this conf (with multiple fringe top25+ teams) fill their arena regularly, specifically midweek games.  one is a cult (ku) and the other is an abnormality (isu).  regular season basketball just doesn't draw.  are you saying this isn't true?

I get the irony you're suggesting, and I am not an apologist for the t-shirt-fan-dumbass contingent we are saddled with, but the outsized pride in the face of few actual, tangible merits such is the life of the ISU fan is, I submit to you, the very face of cult-likeness.

i was referring specifically to basketball cults at ku, uk and duke.  places that care (at a much higher level) about basketball.  i wasn't even bringing t-shirt fandom into it 

isu athletics as a whole fit what you're getting at, but they are still a statistical anomaly.
