What? Where?

Let me spell it out for you.  I have a new favorite barbecue restaurant called Bite Me (gets points just for the name!!).  It is located on 54 Highway on the east side of Goddard, Ks.  Best brisket sandwich ever, really good sauce with a little kick, great beans and spicy carrots and cucumbers on the condiment bar.  Didn't have the ribs but they looked delicious.  Patron that was eating ribs said they were amazing. Will eat there every chance I get.

Probably better, actually.  One area NYC will lose to Kansas/Kansas City every damn time is BBQ.

Last time I went there I had a buddy with me that couldn't believe we "called ahead" and still had to wait 2 hours to get a seat. He didn't understand that at G&M's you reserve your food. He understood shortly after. Mmmm I can almost taste the sauce-slathered wonderbread now.

Well it is sufficiently out of the way and ensures you some quality drive time.  I guess we need to know what the alcohol situation is there and to what extent it allows you to carry on your drinking and driving fetish.

Roy's BBQ - Hutchinson

Easily the best thing about the town.  Brought a few BBQ fetishists (sp?) there one time for ribs, them being skeptical that it could live up to the hype.  It blew their minds.

Smoking or grilling your own stuff is pretty sweet.  So is just paying someone else (who knows WTF they're doing) and saving all the hassle.

+1 on Oklahoma Joes being the best.

Had Rosedale a few weeks ago, sauce was terrible but the burnt ends were surprisingly good. Very juicy.

Rosedale is a polar opposite from OK Joe's as far as sauce style goes.  Both are very good imo.

Need a little help guise...

Believe it or not, ol' BP has yet to eat at Oklahoma Joe's.  When we land in KC on Friday evening before the UT game, we plan to head to one of 'em for some grub.

I know some BBQ joints are better for brisket (beef) and some for ribs (pork), thus my question is this: What are they best at?  And, should we just head to the original location or would we have better luck at around 9pm at Leawood?

Any menu suggestions are welcomed as well.

Thank you sir... That's what I'm looking for.  Should we concern ourselves with location at all?  Will we have any trouble getting in at 9-930pm on a Friday eve?

We're gonna stay down south in the OP/Leawood area... We could either swing by the original or go to the one in Leawood and get to either at about the same time.

Their burnt ends are higher in fat than most places, but they are delicious and juicy all the same.

Lately I've been getting the hog heaven on Texas Toast with beans, and it hasn't done me wrong.

I believe the special on Fridays is an open face sandwich with two sides and a couple ribs for like $15, so try that if you're wanting to try as much as possible.
