Yep, and apparently Smith was our only player back then. I wonder what the recruiting fruit was for him. "Listen dude, you could go to Oklahoma, but we'll give you the ball on every down."- Snyder

Don't know what's worse from that. QB looking like he's going to fall over when he drops back to pass, the LT looking like he couldn't block my grandma, the fact that we still won, or that we're still wearing almost identical uniforms 23 years later.

maybe he promised him a coaching gig for the rest of his life

OMG, look at Willie during this video. He's just hanging in the "student section". No need to leave that area back in those times. I'm sure he was PAK'ing.

Could we afford for goalposts being torn down back then?

The glory days.  We need an old school wildcat logo emoticon.  TIA.

Would you storm the field if we beat texas to win the Big 12? If we beat texas to go undefeated?

Probably not, but after finally winning a game after 30 tries, I think the athletic department was like "eff it, more debt! A win effing feels good!"

The part I chuckled at the most is how 84 just stands at the end of the o-line with his hands on his hips and gassed. He could not look less ready to make an athletic play.
you mean the TE doing the same thing Snyder has them do now?  Beginnings of eliteness.

I'm really happy we broke our losing streak against these dorks (North Texas). However, _FAN please break down Straws 5 step drop for me. It looks so awkward.

That is so surreal to watch.

In 1989 if a Kansas Highway patrol officer stopped you on the interstate instead of a citation you received 2 tickets to a K-State football game.

If you got stopped a 2nd time you were forced to go to a game.

I wasn't at the game. I listened on the radio. I was going crazy when we won. My dad was listening in the tractor out in the field next to the house. He came home right after the 'cats won. He got out and immediately started doing the "WHAT IT IS! WHAT IT IS!"

Dobber gets a tear in his eye to this day every time I see the video of the game or think about that day...my dad died a couple of months later.

Back in that day, you couldn't leave your K-State football tickets in the dashboard of your car, or else you'd come back and there'd be 2 more there.

I love at 4:08 how Mitch almost passes out in agonizing relief as he shouts "They win a ballgame!".
