Marriage first, communion next. Preachers will be pushed to abandoned their beliefs.
-
Christianity tried to destroy them so all's fair

Holy crap that was a great post
Yours sucked reno

Any day Reno is freaking out means it's a great day for America moving forward.

You guys are assholes

So I shouldn't be happy millions of Americans got a closer to equal rights today at the consternation of people like Reno? Weird... :dubious:

Only a few more years and I can marry my cat, Sasha. I just hope she lives that long.

Yup, that's exactly what's going to happen

Comparing gay marriage to beastiality is very offensive to me.

I think it will still be illegal to have sex with your cat though.

It should be, but that's not what's happening here.

Marco Rubio a few days ago commented that we are at the water's edge of the right to practice ones religion being attacked and limited by categorizing a church's conservative teaching that homosexuality is a sin as hate speech. Christians in general are not attacking gays, but are evangelizing Christ crucified and his teaching about sin. When we accept sin we just as well be part of the mob that mocked Christ as he hung on the cross. The apostle Peter stated we all killed Jesus because we sin. That is why he died. I choose to follow faith. People do not want to be called a sinner. Well I am a sinner, but instead of hating and trying to destroy the one calling me that I seek his forgiveness and try not to sin even more. Sweden and Canada have hate speech laws that their courts have ruled take precedent over freedom of religion and speech. LBGT militants are using the courts to destroy Christianity. Hillary Clinton has used code words to say she will use the courts and laws to push unfettered abortion down our throats. Will speaking against this or other bellwether progressive issues be hate apeech? IMO we are at the waters edge.

Thank you Reno I haven't laughed like that in a long time.
*separation of church and state says what?*

Interesting. This thread seems to shine a light on the true propbets of hate. Christians and everyone bring their beliefs to the discussion in the public square and will continue to do so. My side lost today and we will learn to deal civilly with it. My house of worship though is not the public square. Tatics of childish hate, tatrums, and revenge towards others who disagree with you give the impression of no true resolve or belief in your convictions. Seeking to use the courts and laws to force anyone to change their religious beliefs is contrary to the Bill of Rights.

yes, quit taking sides, other side

This is what I don't get. Gay marriage isn't an assault against anyone's religious beliefs.
No one is telling you that you have to marry a man. If two men want to marry, and it's against a religion's dogma, that's between them and their maker. It has nothing to do with you.
No one told you that you had to change what you believe. If it were up to me, I'd remove "under God" from everything, as I'm not a Christian, but whatever. When people sing God Bless America, I just check my phone instead. That's your thing, and if it makes you feel better, have at it.
I guess I just think it's hypocritical that I have to give a crap if Christians are offended, but they force their beliefs into my face every day. It just is what it is. Gay people aren't saying you have to marry a man, so you shouldn't tell them they can't get married. Just stick to your own path, man.

How does letting people marry affect you or your beliefs or freedoms in any way? you can still think its a sin, you can still hate it, you just can't make the government carry out your religious beliefs. All that happened today was continued confirmation that personal rights and freedoms can not be overridden by a vote. Just as you could not vote to suppress the first or second amendment in your town or county with a vote. Absolutely nothing has changed about your religious freedom. Be free Reno, be free.
-
That God damn Hillary is going to force people to get abortions :curse:
-
Christians had to be come atheist first and now they have to become gay.
America is rough. Love it or leave it, I guess.

Here's the thing, I don't think people like Reno can intellectually accept the fact that working for the state means you are acting for the state and not your own personal beliefs. They see forcing a judge to 'validate' a legal contract, or the clerk of the court issuing the marriage license as an assault on their beliefs because they can't grasp that that person is acting in an official capacity instead of in a personal capacity.
And that is how you get to crap like this:
http://www.newsweek.com/following-supreme-court-decision-mississippi-may-stop-issuing-any-marriage-347740
-
I hope Mississippi does that

An elected officials or an appointed official like a judge has no right to refuse overseeing a SSM ceremony. For churches, synagogues, and mosques who's faith leaders have had a relationship with the state to officiate weddings that are civil contracts because the leaders are licensed agents of the state are worried because they are licensed agents can be forced to marry a same sex couple or lose their license and to be sued for discrimination. Likely churches will only do Blessing Ceremonies after the wedding held at a justice of the peace. Time will tell if Chief Justice's warnings about the impact this ruling will have on religious houses of worship and their affiliated organizations comes to fruition. Yes, my faith my offend some, but I should be not impeded from practicing it in its full context, especially if not advocating harm to other - just like those opposed have the right to express their beliefs. I hope Judge Kennedy's ruling is right that this ruLing will not impede religious freedom. Most Republicans for President echo the same concerns, but understand this is the new rule of law.
-
This has not infringed upon your religious freedom in any way, shape or form, reno. Let people live their lives.

Your faith doesn't offend anyone unless your faith is to hate people in which case you can expect them to not give a crap what you think.
-
But my original point stands. If you start a fight expect the other guys to fight back
-
How does the ruling affect me as a straight male?
No way at all. Citzen's United on the other, now there was a mumped up ruling.
-
The Pubs are ringing this religious freedom cell loud and proud because they know voters like Reno think they are under attack (coincidentally because their party news channel carries the same talking g point) and know it will garner them votes. Call me about the republican sanctity for religion when they stop cheating on their wives while they are dying from cancer and they stop rough ridin' 14 year old boy interns.
-
Well, it's a fact that conservative show hosts are fist pumping their white asses off. I mean, book deals, ratings, etc are all going to go through the roof.

Agree. No problem with people sticking up and saying their thoughts in the arena of public debate. Once the debate is over and a law is set by legislativery means or court action then we all live with it, like it or not. I would love to go 100 mph, but the law does not permit it. My original point is a group of activist trying to use courts, lawsuits, and laws to force anyone to change their religious beliefs is wrong. The question becomes is the hate and urge to fight back by the people who feel wronged strong enough for them to want to destroy those they who opposed them.
-
Gays being allowed to marry only poses a theat to a straight couple if one of them is gay.
-
You didn't oppose them. You killed, beat and harassed them. Sucks losing, I get that but don't be a sore loser.

Republicans have done some whopper bad things. As to have Christians, Jews, Muslims, Mormons. Democrats, progressives, and and liberals have like skeletons in their pasts and are just as prone to demogogary. None us can win a pissing war about sainthood

If that is your original point, it's moot. none of this has anything to do w your religion.

Hot damn!!! Renocat dogpile, bite him, poke him in the eyes, pull his leg hairs, and twist his gonnies while he is on the bottom.
-
Homosexuality, as a lustful thought and as an act, is horrible and wrong, in a true moral sense, but a country's decision on who can get married is irrelevant to me.
Focus should be on morality of relationship, nothing more. Morality (there is only one set) is true for all.
-
Even PW is a fan!

I would hate to live in a world ruled by what is in the bible
If a man sells his daughter as a servant, she is not to go free as male servants do.
For six days, work is to be done, but the seventh day shall be your holy day, a day of sabbath rest to the LORD. Whoever does any work on it is to be put to death.
Does not the very nature of things teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a disgrace to him
Then all the men of his town are to stone him to death. You must purge the evil from among you. All Israel will hear of it and be afraid.

Who said anything about claiming sainthood? One party is the party of "NO" right now. NO rights for minority groups, NO to tax reform, NO to economic reforms that empirically help America, NO to voting rights, NO to shutting off the tap of dollars from corporations, NO to fixing Citizens United. Now are Dems "better", eff no. But at least they aren't ardently standing in the way of rights for many Americans and that is the greater good right now.

Look if you secular shitbrains don't get that it isn't evil to enslave people and it's nbd to rape a girl as long as you marry her or pay her dad some shickels, but it's rough ridin' evil as all get out to consensually stick your weemus into another dude's joe hole then you're too rough ridin' stupid to discuss this with any further.
Other people can't do certain things if it violates what you make believe in and that's rough ridin' that.
-
It's actually shekels that you're supposed to pay to dads for the rapes you do. Don't want anyone embarrassing themselves. That could be awkward.
-
Ok Bread in the 30 minutes it took you to clarify the shickels/shekels conundrum...well let's just say I've rang some bells that can't be unrung. :dubious:

My wife pissed off her conservative parents with a rainbow FB post. Now we all get to grab lunch today and get the full weight of their judgment.

my parents are hardcore conservative and catholic but they think it should be legal. Partly because they hate the government so much they think most laws are pointless.

Tubesock? More like Tubecock!
-
Tubetop or tubebottom?
-
Although I’m exclusively attracted to males I don’t act on it kinda like a alchoholic might abstain from drinking. The whole thing is hard but I’m doing pretty good, I’m not asking for pity or anything else other
than human compassion.
-
Tubetop or tubebottom?
This is not something I will talk a lot about, but in the episodes I have had it has been bottom.
-
And you believe you have a mental illness?
-
that is the reality

Some counseling to help cope with your Cub Scout experience probably wouldn't be a bad idea.
-
Yes it does, I've been seeing professionals for 18 years now.

Sorry to hear about that abuse Tubesock, but if it’s any consolation, I still think you’re a horrible person. Not because of your sexuality, just because you’re one of the top 5 most insufferable posters on this blog.
