Guys, we're going to be putting recruits' faces on rockets yet again.
There’s a reason he’s been an assistant for 19 years. Grant McCasland at North Texas is 10x the coach that Tang is.

He lead a lot of the negative recruiting towards other B12 schools. He got in some hot water early on for saying he finished college when he hadn’t which he he tried to use against KU and Tech while Knight was there (Knight really disliked him). He got kids to look at Baylor but it was a lot of kids who where high risk/reward types. He was one of the coaches (along with the ORU guy) who talked Drew into the 2-3 zone during that first NCAA tournament they went to. My understanding was he still advocated for up until they ditched it a few years ago. His x/o are the big question. He’s more a hype guy.He was staring to run into Venables-type questions of why he wasn’t taking HC jobs. I’ve heard of some skeletons but nothing more than whispers. He’ll get his guys up to play but I get the feeling he’ll flame out at State. We know the first bolded sentence is a lie. I have no idea how he would know the second bolded sentence, that's dog whistle'y a.f.

Most of the time, these guys that are known as recruiters absolutely fail at their first job as a head coach somewhere because of two main reasons—no idea how to be an X’s and O’s Coach and no idea how to lead a program. This will fail badly at KSU.
If it were up to me, Wintz would be on a fan scholarship, full ride.

I always thought Baylor / Drew were able to get their recruits by selling religion to them and the kids parents. Something like Its gods plan for them to go to Baylor . Tang also seems to be big into religion. Not sure how that will work at public university .PRIOR TO BAYLOR. Tang was also the athletic director at Heritage Christian, a birth-through-high school private school that boasted 145 students and just 30 high school students (10th-12th grades). Away from the gym, Tang served as youth pastor at First Assembly of God.https://twitter.com/CoachJTang
I can tell you this story:A long time ago, over 10 years, Baylor was recruiting a kid out of Irving, TX named Rickey Scott. Tang/Drew told Scott's high school coach, and I quote: "If Rickey doesn't sign with Baylor, we are never recruiting another kid from your school ever again."They held true to that, because they didn't start recruiting another kid from the same school named Andrew Jones until that coach left.
I get pretty horned up every time they say Drew/Tang cause it reminds me of that one time Drew/Tang won a national championship.
It's a Tang Thang, U wouldn't understand
A Phog fairy tale (they'll post and believe anything):Quote I can tell you this story:A long time ago, over 10 years, Baylor was recruiting a kid out of Irving, TX named Rickey Scott. Is Tang the Venables of Basketball?
This hire is at best a crapshoot, and it was only made possible by Baylor winning a crapshoot last year.
